I couldn't believe my luck when I woke up and saw Alex. I was still alive! I thought I had let my mother down and died. Thank goddess, my teeth had grown out. I played the incident in my head over and over again. Alex had been excited since I woke up. He stayed by my side all through.
It was time to leave the pack hospital and go back to the alpha quarters. I dreaded the thought of it. I wish I had somewhere else to go to, but I didn't.
When we got to the quarters, Alex didn't take me to my room, instead, he took me to his apartment. I was still uneasy about being there, but I didn't let it show. I saw the effort Alex was making to make me feel at home. Letting my fear show, would break his heart. One thing I was certain of was that I couldn't remain in the pack anymore
