Collins POV;
I arrived back at the Pack House, my first full moon ceremony with both my kids back and I couldn’t spend it with them. Seline would pay for what she did. I know deep in my heart it was her. I walked down the stone path leading to the back of the house, lights hung from trees, our large table set up for our feast, and of course Seline walking around basking in the attention of the Pack members, her body shifts as she senses my presence-her eyes snapping to me, staring at me in irritation as always.
“Colin!” Dale yelled happy to see me. “Where have you been? It’s not a Full Moon Ceremony without our Alpha.” He laughed while Handing me a goblet of ceremonial wine.
I chuckled. “Sorry I’m late, I lost track of time.” My eyes watched as Seline turned her attention away from me. “I need to talk to you, it’s incredibly important. Grab Hayden, Beta Sam and his daughter Ella. After my opening speech meet me at my office-make sure no one sees you.” I mind linked him, keeping a smile on my face to be discreet. He nodded, turning around to see Seline staring at us again.
“Have fun.” He joked walking away.
“Colin! How wonderful for you to finally join us.” Her voice honeyed. “Your never late where have you been?”
“I lost track of time.” I said walking past her to the stage while she rushed after me. The music slowly fading as I began to talk.
“Hello everyone, welcome to our monthly ceremony. It’s always an honor to see everyone.” I smiled. “The Full Moon has always been a time that brings us together, connects us to nature and unifies us as one. We are bound together, by unity, by strength, by blood and by the Moon Goddess. Tonight we honour our new members, our newly fated mates, and our first shifters. Please come to the front.” Cheers erupted as three newly mated couples made there way to the front, and five newly shifted wolves stood beside them. “Tonight we-“
“Hunny I know you won’t mind if I interrupt for a moment.” She said with an overly warm tone. I smiled containing my frustrations, after years its become easy. “Not at all.”
“My dear Pack, look at these happy faces in front of us-They are our family, our future. Let nights like tonight remind you we are all family, we protect, and support each other, we are one." She paused,-enjoying the attention on her. “We have an unbreakable bond, and as Luna it’s my duty to make sure that bond thrives.” She looks down at the newly mated wolves and shifters. “Tonight we celebrate you, all of you.” The pack claps, hooked on her words. “Sorry Hun your turn.” I inhaled deeply calming myself. “Tonight we honour you, Jesse, Thomas and Annie we welcome you with open arms and are overjoyed by your presence. As new members to our Pack, we hope you feel welcomed and supported. Emma and Thomas I believe you had news you wanted to share with everyone?” They both smiled as Emma touched her belly. “Were having twin pups.” She squealed in excitement. “This is wonderful news.” I smiled. The pack clapping, happy for the new mates and additions to our pack. “As tradition for many generations, it’s a privilege to gift our newly mated mates a home of there own to start a family. Our newly shifted Wolves Maya, Griffin, Lucas, Blake and Halley we are excited for your new journey as you learn and grow as wolves. Tonight you will receive your honorary engraved dagger. A symbol of our Pack, to help protect you. As we stand here under the full moons watchful eye, feel the light she shines down on you, may you feel the love, happiness, strength and safety she provides. Tonight let us celebrate.” I lifted my goblet of wine. “To the pack!”
Howls of approval echoed as the pack cheered, lifting there goblets in unison.
Seline watched bitterly, while forcing a smile, she always hated that the Pack loved there Alpha- forgetting my family is the founder of this pack for over a century.
Selines POV
I seethed as I watched Colin walk around mingling with everyone, a huge smile on his face, I know he’s up to something. I quietly followed him into the house and up the stairs-when we reached his office, I stood behind the wall slowly peaking around. Dale, Hayden, Sam, and Ella were waiting in front of his office. Colin looked around before quickly closing the door behind them. I quickly ran up the hall to the office and gently placed my ear against the door, listening to there muffled words.
“What’s going on is everything okay?” Dale asked worried.
“I have amazing news but this needs to stay between us for the time being.”
“Of course.” They all agreed.
“My children have finally returned!”
“What that’s impossible!” I seethed ignoring the happiness they all felt. “That useless mongrel!” I rushed down the hall into my office and slammed the door. “I paid him hundreds of thousands to watch her." My hands trembling with rage as I picked up my phone, dialing the number and bringing it to my ear.
“Hello darling.” He answered sweetly. Normally his voice would sooth my angry outburst but not this time.
“She’s back!” I hissed. There was a small pause and a deep breath before he spoke again.
“Breathe darling, who is back?”
“Who?” I snapped. “Blair! The person who can ruin all of this for us!” I yelled pacing around the room. “How the hell did this happen, the spell was supposed to keep her suppressed! She should be rotting away with that pathetic excuse of a stepfather. Instead she managed to find her way back!”
“Are you sure she’s back? Have you seen her? And even if she is the spell did work. It did exactly what it was supposed to- It’s kept her weak without her memories or any kind of connection to her wolf or Pack for years, if she is it doesn’t mean anything.. Relax love, she’s not fit to be an heir.”
“But why is she back? Something must have happened to the spell for her to come back.”
“Even if it did, so what? The spell stopped her from shifting, she has no idea who she is, she’s damaged. All of that can’t be fixed by removing the spell.”
My breathing slowly steadied as I sunk down into my dark purple velvet chair. “So we don’t need to worry, she’s still weak?”
“Of course, and she’s vulnerable and emotional. She spent years living in torment by her stepfather and brother-spending years feeling unwanted and out of place, she won’t fit in. It won’t take long for the Pack to realize she doesn’t belong here, and they turn against her.”
“But what if they don’t?”
“Then we will show them, use her weakness against her.” A smile slowly crept on my face.
“You know just what to say.”
He chuckled. “And you always get what you want. Trust me love, the pack will be ours soon.” My smile deepened. “I miss you.”
“Sneak away for a few hours and come see me.” His voice laced with lust.
“I need to tie up some loose ends, but I’ll see you soon.” I blew a kiss before hanging up the phone.
