Saturday, 03 March 2018, today. Manhattan Upper East Side, New York City. Emilie Roze just arrives early in front of her best friend’s apartment. She waits alone at the porch, while her brown eyes keep looking back and forth at the walkers on the pavement road. And then a few minutes later, she hears the click-click sound of the walking steep heels behind her. When she turns to look, there’s already a pretty blonde girl who smiles sweetly at her. “Always on time as usual, huh?” the girl chatters. Emilie glances slightly at the girl’s dark appearance. She always wears something in black, and also with emo make up that sometimes makes her look like an underground punk kid. It’s very contrast with her flawless white skin and her white long hair that looks almost like a real-life fairy. And her name is Illana May. And then Emilie greets her back excitedly, “Hei, Illana, my girl!” They giggle afterwards, then kissing each other’s cheeks, and acting just like other noble clique girls in town. “Okay, so, how long have you been standing there with your red heels?” Illana mutters as her gray eyes start staring at Emilie’s seven centimeters high heels. “Ugh, don’t remind me,” she sighs a while. “Just go with the flow, girl…” “Suit yourself,” Illana mutters again and smiles. After they’re knocking repeatedly on the door, finally, the landlord opens the door for them. And there they see a pretty Latina woman smiles widely at them. Her name is Sonia Ash. “Hello, girls. Sorry for making ya’ll wait so late with my grand opening!” she shouts while slightly brushing her dark brown hair with her curvy hands. “Ugh, Sonia! Like you are the real princess, always making people wait boringly for you!” Emilie shouts back as she stares annoyingly at her. Sonia quickly makes a grumpy face for her, and starts acting like an ugly duckling. As they giggle together again, then Illana says, “Okay, so, are you guys ready for the party?” Sonia nods cheerfully again, and so does Emilie. Without further ado, they hurriedly enter Sonia’s white sedan car in the parking lot, and starts screaming excitedly until everyone on the road quickly gets startled with their attitude. *** *** *** The odd words written on the wooden board is somewhat looks enticing. Especially when it hangs in the middle of someone’s property. “ENTRANCE: FOR COOL PEOPLE ONLY!” When the three of them just arrive at the porch and notice that written board, they immediately laugh together. “What kind of stupid people would write something like this anyway?” Emilie grumbles. “Ugh, would assume it was just another kid’s prank these days,” Sonia mutters. “I thought it’s probably Alec’s doing,” says Ilanna, making them glance bewilderingly at her words. And then she explains, “You know… he’s a naughty boy, sometimes.” Then Emilie shoves her hands in the air as saying, “Alright, whatever. But that alert note is correct anyway. Only cool kids can enter this party house, right?” After they giggle together again, then Sonia and Illana quickly follow her walking to the foyer of that building, which the architecture looks slightly like a hotel property than just an average residential. The heavy disco music on the background really annoy their ear drums. Until they see the landlord of this building from afar, which are the two handsome Alienski brothers. Everyone in town already knows who the popular Jack Alienski and Alec Alienski. They are cousins to each other. And their family own lots of property in Manhattan Upper East Side as part of a political business. But here, in this party house, there are friends who they know and don’t know. This friendly party is being held weekly by The Elite, which is the social group established by the eight rich kids and big influencers. Emilie, Sonia, dan Illana are part of The Elite, including Jack and Alec. There are also Sheryl, Barbara, and Jazz, who they haven’t seen yet since this morning. They all have been together since first met in college. And now, five years after college graduation, they continue to grow the money machine business together. They are all the real rich kids in town. Of course, many people envy their wealthy life. It’s like their life so easy in every way, that they can get anything they want, with just a single flip of switch. “Tell me again, why we are not breaking up with this whole Elite situation after what happened last month?” Sonia mutters while her eyes keep locking at Jack’s presence, who currently greeting some people in the middle of the big room. “Because we still care about the money and the social status situation,” Emilie answers her. Illana slightly chuckles in disbelief. And she adds, “Yeah, tell me again. It’s always about the rich kids’ problem, huh?” “I feel really sorry about your break up with Jack last month. It shouldn’t have happened that way,” says Emilie as she turns to look pitifully at Illana. Surely, Illana sighs heavily at her sympathetic expression. “Yeah, if that Beefy Girl didn’t shove her big size boobs and ass in front of Jack’s face, the betrayal scandal wouldn’t have happened anyway,” Sonia mutters. “Ugh, okay, guys… you all don’t have to remind me all the time about it. I will really appreciate your sympathy then,” says Illana agitatedly. “Okay, sorry,” Emilie says with her apologetic face. And right after they talk about the tragedy, the person of interest just appears in the middle of the party room. “There you go, the super annoying Beefy Girl,” Sonia alerts them. Emilie and Illana then sighs concurrently when seeing the presence of that blonde girl, who can’t stop smiling at everybody she comes across with. Her name is Sheryl Crowd. The only reason they agree calling her the Beefy Girl, it’s because she has a fatty body shape, and a very chubby face, with a wavy blonde long hair that makes her look even fatter. And these past few weeks, they keep talking about it anyway, since Illana and Jack’s sad break up had happened. That’s because they really dislike her, even she actually has a pretty face and a charming smile. And still, they don’t give a damn. Apart from that, wherever she will go, Sheryl is already hated by many people. Especially since in college. It’s because she keeps acting like a super diva, always craving for everyone’s attention. It’s like the world only has to revolve around her all the time. And so thus, everyone slowly gets bored with her lame attitude. But despite all of her annoying personality traits, Sheryl is still well-respected because of her parents’ money. Her family own a success French wine company that is based in Paris and Manhattan. And there are Barbara Megan and Jazz Negan. They both just stand silently in the corner of the room while enjoying a glass of red wine. They are the only members of The Elite that don’t talk much. But their existence also important. Then again, because of their family’s wealth that makes them rich and well-respected in the mass society. And so thus, Emilie, Sonia, and Illana agree not to make such a big fuss with last month’s love scandal. They understand that The Elite’s welfare is more important than losing a perishable relationship that will not last anyway. Because in the end, what always matters to them will be about the social status and the luxury of life. And people only live once in this world. So makes the best of it.
