[Rachel's POV] Gabriel called a cab for us, and as he touched me, I felt a tingle of excitement. I sat in the backseat, holding his hand tightly. His touch was warm and comforting, making me want to be close to him and understand the mysteries in his eyes. During the cab ride, I felt a mix of excitement and curiosity. I looked at Gabriel, who seemed calm but determined. I didn't know where he was taking me, unaware of his world of lycans and the secrets that filled their lives. When the cab stopped, my heart raced as I saw the sign for the jazz club called Harmony Haven. I got out of the cab and saw the dimly lit entrance, with the sound of saxophones in the air. Gabriel held my hand tightly, leading me inside where a magical world awaited us. The moment we stepped into the club, I fell in love with the cozy atmosphere. The soft candlelight created a warm glow over the small tables. The beautiful music surrounded us, making my heart beat in rhythm with it, as if it was telling me secrets only music could share. I sipped a cocktail, savoring the delicious flavors, while Gabriel's eyes never left mine. He reached out his hand and asked, "Rachel, would you like to dance?" I smiled and felt my heart race with excitement. I placed my hand in his, and we walked to the middle of the dance floor. The music surrounded us, and we moved together, following the rhythm as if we were connected by magic. While we danced, I felt a strong bond between us. Gabriel's touch sent shivers through me, making me feel alive. Everything else disappeared, and it was just the two of us, lost in the moment. Our dance brought us closer, and I forgot about everything else. I leaned in, feeling his warmth against my skin. We were so close, our eyes locked in a wordless conversation of longing. But then, as if a spell had been broken, I felt Gabriel's grip loosen as he drifted away, blending into the crowd. I felt confused and looked around, trying to find him. I wondered what had happened to make him suddenly pull away. I walked through the crowded dance floor, feeling a mix of worry and confusion. The music played on, but my happiness had turned into a strange feeling of discomfort. I felt lost and hurt, standing there as an outsider to a dance that no longer included me. I wondered what had changed, what had caused our connection to break. The room felt suffocating, the sounds fading into the distance. I took a step back, looking around the dimly lit club for answers. The flickering candles cast shadows on my face, reflecting the turmoil inside me. Questions filled my mind, threatening to drown out the music and laughter around me. What had gone wrong? Did I misunderstand his feelings? Doubt crept in, making me feel insecure and overshadowing what had started as a promising evening. [Gabriel's POV] Rage and desperation pulsed through my veins as I confronted Jake. His mocking words echoed in my ears, igniting a firestorm of emotions within me. I couldn't let him toy with me any longer, endangering Rachel and tarnishing the precious moments we shared. "We need to talk!" I growled, my voice thick with anger and frustration. The veins in my temples throbbed with the weight of my fury as Jake slowly stood up from the bench seat, a twisted smile playing on his lips. "Of course, lover boy," he sneered, his tone dripping with malice. The audacity of his insolence fueled my rage further, and without a second thought, I forcefully pushed him into the nearby empty room, the door closing behind us with a resounding thud. Inside the confined space, the air grew heavy with tension. Anguish and tears welled up in my eyes as I confronted Jake, my voice trembling with a mixture of sorrow and fury. "What do you want from me now? Didn't I tell you I had done your dirty job already?" A wicked smile twisted across Jake's face as he taunted me, his words laced with a sadistic delight, "Calm down, Gabriel," he sneered, sounding really mean. "Wouldn't want your girlfriend to disappear, right? I'm just having fun, like you." His words hurt me deeply, but my main concern was keeping Rachel safe from his evil plans. Fear of losing her overpowered my anger. I stormed out of the room, my mind focused on finding her and ensuring her well-being. I hurried back to the dance floor, desperately searching for Rachel amidst the swirling crowd. Panic gripped me as I approached a nearby person, my voice filled with desperation. "Have you seen a woman wearing a flowy, floral-print sundress paired with..." but the person shook his head, indicating he hadn't seen her. Dread washed over me, and I pressed my hands against my head, feeling a mix of fear and helplessness. She couldn't be gone. She couldn't have vanished without a trace. Driven by adrenaline, I retraced my steps, desperately hoping for any sign of her presence. The sound of my footsteps echoed through the club as I hurried back to the room where I had left Jake, but he was nowhere to be found. Panic tightened its grip on me, as if the walls were conspiring to hide Rachel. As I burst out of the room, my eyes met Jake's, and I immediately grabbed his shirt collar, my voice trembling with anger and desperation. "Where is she?" I demanded, my voice filled with raw emotion. A bouncer nearby intervened, placing his hands between us to stop a fight. Jake convinced the bouncer that it was a misunderstanding, saying that It's okay and we were both friends while the bouncer reluctantly stepped back, allowing us to continue talking. Jake motioned for me to wait and took out his phone from his pocket. He made a call, speaking urgently, "where is she now?" I grew more impatient by the second, every moment feeling agonizingly slow. Finally, Jake finished the call and turned to me with a twisted smile. "She waited outside for a few minutes and then left," he revealed, his tone full of wicked satisfaction. "You see, Gabriel, your anger clouded your judgment. All you had to do was call her." Without saying another word, I walked away from him, his voice fading into the background as I left.
