Mrs. Tully stared at the young woman and fought the urge to push the subject. Somehow she got the feeling that Alicia wasn’t quite telling her everything but she let it go for now… there were a few other things they needed to talk about first.
“One thing I am curious about,” Mrs. Tully began. “Has anything strange been happening to you lately? Anything you can’t quite explain?”
Alicia froze with the glass of milk halfway to her mouth and stared at the older woman. She knew… Mrs. Tully knew she’d been bitten and that she was turning into one of the monsters. Fear started to creep through her body and a bone deep chill passed through her.
Mrs. Tully watched Alicia for any signs but all she saw was fear. Again, the child was hiding something and it was starting to affect her.
