Vedavati

Vedavati is daughter of Kusadwaja.

Vedavati, embodiment of Vedas, always wanted to have lord Vishnu as her Consort. In the path of devoting her life to lord Vishnu, Vedavati decided to meditate in himalaya with consent of her dear father Kusadwaja.

It is a peaceful day... Thought Lanka adhipati Ravan who was returning to Lanka after serving Lord Shiv and his consort Parvati mata, in his massive Pushpaka vimana. 

The horizon of the orange sky and the peaks of white snow was a sight to behold. Suddenly in the beautiful silence he heard a soulful feminine voice chanting " OM NAMO NARAYANAYA !"

Vedavati chanted Lord Nrayana's name with infinite love, respect and care. Anyone who listened to her l chant would understand that she  loved Lord more in one second than anyone in lifetime.

Ravana who was deeply moved by the secret enchantress's voice and was very desperate to see the beauty.  Hence he immediately landed his Pushpaka vimana.

Ravan who is slave of l**t, was swept away by the enchantress Vedavati's beauty.

" Such a beauty! " quoted Ravana with l**t oozing from his thick lashes lined beautiful eyes. Vedavati who was immersed to an intense extend in chanting the name of the robber, the Robber of Trillion innocent hearts, was suddenly disturbed by a strong manly voice.

Vedavati opened her eyes to see a man, a very handsome but still gave off negative vibes. Ravana who could not control his inner desire anymore said.." A lady like you does not deserve to stay in this snow but in the Lanka Anthahpura... as my consort."

Vedavati who was exhasperated with the arrogant man's unmannerly words immediately restored " You ill mannered man! Get away from my sight... I have dedicated my life to Lord Vishnu !"

This has scared the ego of the mighty Ravana. He immediately pulled Vedavati by her hair and pulled her towards his Pushpaka vimanam to take her against her will.

Vedavati , who was crestfallen by the act of Ravana cut off her hair till his grip and quoted resentfully "I Vedavati curse you, may a lady be the reason for your fall" and burnt herself to  protected from Ravana.

He collected her ashes with a hope of bringing her back to life.

(Lanka)

Ravana opened the box that contained the ashes infront of his favorite wife Mndodari and his first wife Vidyadhari Maya. 

Vidyadhari Maya who realized that Vedavati is going to be end of her husband ordered the soldiers to take away the box far from Lanka.

The soldiers took the box and buried it in the north eastern part of Aryavarta ... The Mithila.
