Roxy’s POVThe room is dark.
But my eyes are wide open.
Earlier when we came back into the cabin, Kye gave me some water and painkillers and I feel so much better right now. He asked me if I was okay with us sleeping on the same bed and I said I wasn’t, so he took a sleeping bag and now he’s sleeping on the floor. He said that he’s slept in worse places during his military training so he’d be okay by the time the sun rises.
Here I am, feeling guilty for telling him I wasn’t comfortable with us sleeping on the same bed. It’s actually raining and it’s getting colder. I don’t remember it being a rainy season though. Climate change is weird these days.
I can hear Kye breathing calmly and I can’t help but wonder how he’s so comfortable in that sleeping bag. I switch on the lights
