Chapter 52Wren, Roxy and I move to the edge of the deck and for sure, I have no idea what is happening until I hear Kye say.
“Shoot!”
I gather up the saliva I can and we all spit at the same time. Wren spits farthest, then Roxy and mine which apparently hasn’t gone twenty centimeters from the edge of the deck.
“Oh bummer.” I pout and cross my arms across my torso.
“Come on, it’s just a game,” Scott says and everyone laughs except Vic.
“I guess we’re both losers, Kyrah,” Vic smiles apologetically and my shoulders drop. “Anyway, Wren and I are going to catch up, maybe grab some pizza. See you guys later,” and he walks away, alongside Wren. They’d actually make a good couple, I tell myself.
