I walked back into the room with a towel wrapped around me.
Blaze was sitting on the bed, looking at his phone. The second I stepped out of the bathroom, his eyes lifted to me.
“Good shower, Darlin’?”
I nodded.
“Yeah. Especially after the long day.”
I walked over and settled myself on Blaze’s lap. His phone immediately disappeared as one of his hands went to my thigh.
“You good?” Blaze questioned.
I knew what he was really asking.
Was I okay after what happened downstairs?
I nodded.
“Nothing I’m not used to.”
Blaze’s expression hardened.
“The only time I was really acknowledged back then was when I was being accused of something they believed I did. Which honestly wasn’t often.”
His jaw tightened.
Yeah.
He didn't like that answer.
I wrapped my arms around his neck.
