Chapter 9

Audenzia pov

I smirked. "So you're here for the gala huh?", I inquired. he scoffed and nodded. "It seems the gala has the same effect on people.", I laughed. Why not? We probably wouldn't meet again. 

He snorted. "I met your sister yesterday.", he started, "I thought she's hot. I never thought I could call someone hotter than her just the next day!" 

I laughed. "We tend to have that effect on people", I retorted with a wink. 

We were silent for some time enjoying our drinks. His gaze roamed over the dance floor. I think he was finding a good play. His gaze lingered over a particular brunette and he smirked. He started to get up when he suddenly seemed to remember that I was sitting near him. 

He looked at me, I smirked shaking my head. "Go on. Don't let me detain your....", I trailed off looking down at a certain bulge protruding from his pants. He caught my gaze and his cheeks flushed. He's cute. I thought. A laugh escaped me and i gave him a thumbs up. 

he leisurely strode towards the brunette and whispered something in her ear which made her smile. she took his extended hand and they went to the dance floor. i tore away my gaze from them and sighed. were alone now. you and me. i whispered to my glass. 

"Hey, would you like to dance?", A guy asked me after sometime. I let my gaze rake over him. Hmm... Not bad for a hum- no he isn't a human. A vampire! He smelt familiar. I looked at him more closely.

Liam! Oh my god! He is Liam. Liam is Layton's younger brother. I've only seen him once or twice. He's almost a rogue.  

"Liam?", I asked. He furrowed his brows. "Do we know each other?", He asked leaning forward to take a close look at me. "Hmm... you do look a bit familiar. But I'm not able to recognize you. I'm sorry if you're someone I should remember." He said not sounding sorry at all.

"You haven't changed at all. You're still your smug self. Tell me Liam, since how many years have you not reported to Katya?", I asked. His eyes widened. And confusion spread over his handsome face. "Who...", he trailed off.

I shook my head smirking," Audenzia. Remember? Alpha Queen? Anything to recall?", I asked raising a brow. 

His eyes widened again and he inclined his head an inch in respect. "I'm sorry My Lady. I should've recognized you." He apologized now sounding apologetic.

I nodded my head, " You should've but you didn't.", I said coldly. He gulped. "I-I'm sorry My Lady.", he repeated. I waved my hand dismissing the topic. I gestured for him to sit down. He obeyed. It was amusing how a cocky arrogant bastard turns into a obedient puppy with a bit of umm... coldness, is it? 

"You never answered me.", I said after a few minutes. He looked up from his hands, on which he was staring at for past five minutes. "W-what answer my lady?", He asked. 

"Since how many years have you not reported to Katya?", I repeated.

He cleared his throat awkwardly and tugged at his collar," Ahem... well.. My Lady you see I've been very busy, I mean I-" , He started but I cut him off coldly, " How.Many.Years?", I asked accentuating each and every word.

He flinched, " Ten years My Lady." he said looking down in shame. 

"Hmm... so.. you're a rogue again I see, hmm?" I continued showing no mercy. "No!", He exclaimed. "I mean no, my lady. I'm not a rogue since you took me under your wing."

"Oh? Under my wing huh?", I asked c*****g my head. "So... if I may ask, how did you repay my generosity?"

He gulped and hung his head low. I smirked. I like to put arrogant cocky bastards in their place. I let his guilt hang in the air for some time. "Report to her, now.", I commanded.

"Yes, My Lady, right now My Lady.", he rasped getting up. I broke in a laugh. I couldn't help it. He looked up abruptly, his eyes wide. He was looking at me in so much confusion, it was quite adorable.

"Sit down sit down, I was checking if I still have influence on my people.", I said. "Oh you have, you sure have influence.", he said breathing in relief.

"Doesn't mean you don't have to report.", I warned. "You'll do that first thing you get out of here, if I didn't get her call about it till morning, you'll be a rogue for real."

He nodded obediently and sagged in his seat, closing his eyes. He opened his eyes lazily and gave me a cheeky grin, "Even you have not changed.", he commented, "in any aspect.", came his rough voice as he was eyeing me.

I narrowed my eyes and leaned forward, " I am your queen. And you are one of a rogue whom I have taken in, like many others. Never.Forget.The.Difference." I warned in a voice which made people run. Fear came over his face and in his eyes. Good. He inclined his head yet again. 

"I'm sorry my lady, i didn't mean to offend you.", he apologized in a low voice. I nodded my head satisfied. 

"Order something, its on me.", I said after a moment taking a sip from my drink and nudging him in the ribs. He looked at the bartender and called him,"Bourbon shots.", he ordered,"Make them strong.", he added after throwing me a uncertain look.

The bartender prepared his shots," So, where are you nowadays?", I asked. "Well.. I'm anywhere.", he laughed shaking his head."I've been a rogue for most of my life, so its just not in my bones to settle down. And I haven't found a reason to settle down." he added. He was probably talking about a beloved. He looked sad. 

I snorted,"I doubt that even if you find that reason you will settle down." I said air quoting 'that reason'. He chuckled "You're probably right." We laughed for a moment but then the silence reigned again. At least between us, the club wasn't silent at all. He threw me the uncertain look again as if pondering over something.

"I have to tell you something.", he said after a moment. I looked up at him questioningly, wondering why is he having so serious face. "Spit it out", I commanded. He looked around carefully, his eyes skeptical. "Well.. I'm not sure about this, but you need to hear this.", he said with a face so serious I never expected it from Liam. 

He leaned forward until his face was only inches apart from my ear. "You know like I said, I've been a rogue for most of my life.", he begun, I nodded for him to continue," Well.. so most people still think that I'm still a rogue." he said.

I narrowed my eyes I had my suspicions on where it was going, I nodded again," So.. well, I've been hearing things,", he said. "Things like?", I demanded. 

"Someone has been forming alliances. With rogues. They even offered me. I declined, of course but I didn't tell them the real reason. They're offering big amounts of money and I think something is going on which is not quite... legal."he explained.

I nodded slowly taking it in,"It's been a while since these types of activities have been going on .", he looked up in my eyes and nodded solemnly. I pursed my lips. "You've put it quite mildly.", I commented sarcastically. He snorted and winked. I thought about it for a moment. "Now that they don't know you're no longer a rogue... I want you to look out. Keep a watch on these activities and keep me updated. We'll see what to do when the time is right.", I commanded. 

"Yes, My Lady. And one more thing, when I said rogues, it meant all types of rogues, vamps, weres and  I think the witches are also involved.", he informed. 

"Keep an eye on them. I'll spread the alert, if you see something suspicious tell me we might have to involve the council.", I instructed. He nodded understandingly. 

Just then my gaze swept over the dance floor and I saw that Darren wasn't there. He probably went to have good time. I scoffed inwardly. Good time. Oh but he'll surely return... I threw a look at where Liam was sitting besides me drinking his shots. 

"Liam.. there's an... acquaintance of mine here. A werewolf from a strong pack. A guy from alpha family actually. He went out there to...", I trailed off suggestively. He smirked,"To fuck." 

"Yeah.. so when he'll come and catch me with a vampire..", I trailed off again. His eyes widened. 

"Oh!", he said. "Yeah, oh!", I retorted. 

"Well ill be going now. My Lady. It's high time I visit my beloved brother and his beloved.", He said getting up. 

He inclined his head," Till next time, My Lady. It was a pleasure", He said and vanished in the crowd. 

I looked up to see that the bartender was staring at me wide eyed, he probably heard Liam calling me My Lady.  I faked a laugh,"Its his way of flirting.". He gave me a odd look but turned away shrugging. I sighed. 

My head was buzzing with what Liam just informed me. If what he said is true and my suspicions are correct, its something to worry about. I took a deep breath and felt my gums and throats tingle with the overwhelming scent of humans. Oh s**t! I didn't feed for over two days. I need to get out of here pronto! Just then I felt a hand on my shoulder. It was a man's hand,"Hey beautiful! What's a beauty like you doing here alone? You deserve attention." He said the typical cheesy pick up line. He had blonde hair and green eyes and of course a smirk on his face. I was about to roll my eyes at him when my gaze fell over his hand. No, he wasn't wearing a ring, at least not right now. The tan told different tales. I found my prey. 

A smirk formed on my lips,"Why don't you give me attention then?", I asked throwing him a wink. His smirk widened and he sat down next to me. "May I buy you a drink?", he asked. I raised my half empty glass in the air towards him,"I already have a drink, why don't we go somewhere else?", I asked leaning forward suggestively. "Of course, lets have fun baby.", he whispered getting up and putting his filthy arm on my waist. I controlled the urge to strangle him, instead I put on a flirty smile. And let him lead me to a empty stall in a restroom. 

He closed the door and crashed his lips on mine. We kissed fiercely, his hands roamed my body freely. I kept chanting in my mind, don't kill him Zia. I trailed kisses from his chin to his neck. I sucked on a certain spot where his neck met his shoulder. He moaned and I pulled his neck more aside to give me more access.  He moaned as I sucked on his skin. My gums tingled in anticipation. He closed his eyes and begun to grind against me. I smirked. Now. My fangs extended and I pierced his skin. His eyes flew open in surprise and my hand clamped over his mouth to prevent him from shouting. But slowly he relaxed against my body. His body shivered in the pain and pleasure. His hands grabbed me more tightly. Hmm... for a cheating bastard his blood was quite tasty... I had my fill, slowly draining his blood. But I didn't kill him. I slowly retreated my fangs from his skin and licked his wound clean. He slumped on the toilet seat. I grabbed his chin and made him look in my eyes.

His eyes were hazy, as if drunk but I knew better. "You'll forget what happened here and go home. You'll tell your wife about all your affairs and fun times.", I commanded. He nodded hazily and stood up slowly. I licked my lips after he was gone. I washed my face and went out to the bar to have a drink. Darren was sitting there drinking.

"Hey!", I approached him. He looked up at me his eyes wide. "I thought you left.", He commented. His hair were messy and lips swollen. I smirked and shook my head,"Had fun, huh?" I teased sitting down. He smirked,"Definitely."

"If you don't mind me asking, don't you want to wait for your mate?", I asked cautiously. His hand froze midair and he gulped. "It's okay. Don't answer, relax.", I hurriedly covered up. 

He drank continuously after that. I was getting worried for him, even werewolves got drunk at some point. He slumped in his seat and his eyes looked hazy. "You know.."he started with a broken sad voice,"I've been waiting for my mate since last six years. She never came."

A lump formed in my throat,"My eldest brother is twenty eight, my other brother is twenty six and my younger sister is twenty. We four were supposed to find mate a long time ago..", He took another big gulp from his glass,"But we never found them. none of us."

He drank for some more time I was sitting there awkwardly not knowing what to say.

"Its like were cursed.", He scoffed and laid his head on table. My eyes flew towards him at that. "Its not like that Darren. Believe me, the Moon Goddess does everything for a reason. Everyone has a fate. You all will find your mates when you're supposed to find them. Don't worry.", I said reassuringly squeezing his shoulder. He gave me a uncertain smile and continued drinking.

It was definitely time for him top stop now. "Darren, I-I think you should stop now. You're drunk.", I warned. He chuckled. "Drunk? Me? I'm definitely not drunk.", He slurred out. Oh s**t! I tried to remove his glass from his hand but he didn't let me. Instead he kept drinking. 

He slumped heavily on the table. "Darren! Darren! Get up, Get up!", I exclaimed. He opened his eyes lazily and slurred out some words. I leaned closer towards him to hear what he was saying. 

"C-call, c-call Dan-Dam-Danyyy", He slurred and slumped closing his eyes. Oh god! Who's Dany or was it Damy? I hurriedly checked his pockets and found his phone. 

Thank god that it wasn't locked. I found a name called Dane in his recents. He was saying dany.. it didn't hurt to try. I called the number. It ringed for a few times before the call was picked up,"Hello? Darren? Why in the name of Moon Goddess are you calling me right now?", came a angry rough voice. I hesitated, "Ahem, its uh Audenzia, Darren's...umm..friend, he got drunk here in a club he is unconscious. I found your number so..", I trailed off.

The voice cursed,"Okay. please text me the address of the club, I'll be there. And umm.. thank you.", He said before hanging up. I texted him the address and waited. After about half an hour his phone ringed I picked it up,"Hello? I'm here. where are you both?", He asked through the phone. "We're inside near the bar. You need to come in, I couldn't take him outside.", I said. A muffled groan and mumbled yes came from the other side before the line went dead. 

About five minutes later I saw a figure approaching the bar, he looked pissed, yes, but hot! Shut up shut up, I warned myself. He spotted us and strode towards us. He met my gaze and gave me curt nod. He looked at the slumped figure of Darren and gave him a kick. My eyes widened. "Ow! What the f**k?", Darren groaned opening his eyes. He spotted the man and smiled. "Dane, Dane my dearest brother. I missed you." he threw himself at Dane and he rolled his eyes. "Stop this nonsense and come with me.", He commanded with a scowl. "I'll come with you anywhere my dear brother.", He said smiling lazily, Dane begun to walk him away. Darren suddenly stopped,"Oh! where are my manners?" He exclaimed slapping his head," Dane meet  Aud-Auden-Audenzia! Alpha Audenzia, meet my dear brother Alpha Daniel Black.", He introduced excitedly.

Oh, his name is Daniel. He furrowed his brows in confusion for a moment and extended his free arm to shake my hand,"Pleased to meet you, thank you for taking care of this i***t. He made a joke of himself, sorry for the inconvenience.", The Alpha said sounding angry at his little brother. "It wasn't inconvenient at all. I'm pleased to make acquaintance.", I said curtly. He nodded and took his brother away. 

I kept looking at their retreating figures and decided to go back too. I also concluded that both of the brothers are very different.
