Chapter 8

Audenzia pov

I woke up feeling quite better than before. I sighed and didn't even feel the headache and sore throat from before. I took a deep breathe, and sat up. Today must be so long after I took a day off from my work. I've not taken a single day off except for some urgent times or important times once a month or something.

I'll take a whole day off today now that I've got a chance. So I got up and went to take a hot shower. But then my gaze swept over the bath tub and i decided to take a warm, bath. I turned the tap and let the bath fill up. 

I stepped in the bath and closed my eyes at the instant relaxation i got in my muscles. But that was swept away as soon as it came because as soon as I closed my eyes an image flashed across my eyes. His image. 

Why do I even have a mate? Is the moon goddess out of her mind? Sending mates in peoples way. I don't even want a mate.

Yeah lie as much as you want. You cant lie to yourself. Why don't you just think about it? Just try to give him a chance. Macy exclaimed exasperatedly. I sighed. 

Can you please stop nagging me. Think as an alpha not any silly teenage she wolf falling in her mate's arms as soon as she sees him. I fired. 

She growled and went back in my mind. 

I could feel her overwhelming presence in the back of my mind. I should do something to take my mind off her. Hmm.. what should I do? 

I decided to go shopping. I've not done that in a long time. I've always  got Vale do that for me. 

"Hello?", came a high pitched cool voice that I've been hearing for so long. "Hey! Its emergency, teleport immediately. I'll send you the address. " I said monotonously, "Come alone", I warned before hanging up.

A smile crept up my face as soon as I kept my phone down. After deciding that I will go shopping, I got ready and called Katya my best friend since childhood and third in command of my coven. She's almost like me. We're like sisters. And it would be good to spend some time with her. I was sitting in my car looking out, I was sure she would come here.. There was a knock on the passenger sides window. I turned to see a confused looking Katya. I smiled and opened the door for her. 

"What's the matter? What emergency? Is everybody alright?", She fired frantically as soon as she was seated in the car. "We're going for shopping.", I casually replied starting the car. The car was silent for a minute. Hmm.. I counted.. 

One.

Two.

Three.... "WHAT?", she screeched. "You told me teleport here just because you want to shop?", She scoffed. "So that means you interrupted the very steamy s*x session with my mate for what? For shopping? I'm gonna kill you. I'm gonna bloody kill you!" she exclaimed. 

Now that she mentioned it I looked over her attire a long tee (without a bra, which I noticed), messy hair smudged and swollen lips. In a frenzy to come here she practically came out wearing something which screamed,' Hey look! I was dancing the fandango de pokum with my mate.' I burst out laughing. 

She narrowed her eyes at me and huffed loudly. "You have to buy me something to wear before we step in the mall." , She demanded " And whatever I buy, it will be on you"

I rolled my eyes," Okay crybaby", I laughed. She rolled her eyes and began texting someone. Layton, her mate i presume. 

We shopped for like hours. Tried many dresses, rejected a lot of them and even bought a few. Throughout the whole time I was continuously receiving nagging from either Vale or Antony. I didn't respond to any of them. Before coming out I had informed Sarah, who was lounging in the living room that I was going to go shopping. She had nodded wide eyed.

After a shopping session of about 3 hours, Katya dragged me to a food stall. "I'm dying of hunger", she had exclaimed. while we were having a pizza in the food stall, she got a call from Layton.

"I'll go now. He's nagging me. And we've done enough shopping for today don't you think?", she asked. I nodded at her, "don't waste all your time in making babies." , I said laughing. She rolled her eyes, but a shadow came over her face. She and Layton were trying for children from past few years but they were unsuccessful so far. I squeezed her hand and nudged her, giving her a reassuring smile. She laughed and nodded. I've always been bad at comforting people, but I was grateful that the people around me were understanding.

As soon as we got in the car she teleported back immediately. I sat in the car silently and thought about what to do next. Just then my phone started to ring. I sighed and picked it up, "Where the hell are you?" , shouted Vale. "I'm out." ,I replied nonchalantly. I could practically feel her boiling inside. Why is she being a unreasonable? I'm an adult I can go out whenever I want to.

I expected a lash out but instead she just breathed heavily and in a tone which adults use on mischievous children said, "I've arranged a family dinner with some.... Ahem.. Business partners and they're also very important werewolves. It's very important. It is tomorrow, you need to attend it. You're the Alpha of our pack and.. My only family."

A lump formed in my throat. I cleared my throat , "Do you think I'm irresponsible just because I got drunk once and went out without informing you?" , I asked, "You don't need to remind me of my duties. I'll be there. And I'll be late home today." , I said coldly and hung up. Everyone was getting on my nerves now.

I growled out. f**k! I need to do something. I closed my eyes and slumped in my seat.

Where should I go next? Suddenly a thought popped in my mind and a smile crept up my face.

I spent whole of my day driving. I love to drive. But, I can't get time to do many things. I'm so busy that I don't have time for any of the other things.

At eight pm I decided that I'll go in a club to relieve the tension. It's been so long since stepped in a club or something like that.

I changed into a full black outfit and went into The Ecstasy. It was a famous club around here.

I entered the club and ... coughed. The stench of alcohol and stench were overwhelming for my enhanced senses. I scrunched my nose and took slow small breathes to adjust to the environment.

I went to the bar and sat down. "Gin and tonic", I demanded to the bartender. He eyed me and nodded.

After some shots of drinks I was just sitting looking at the half empty glass. I had tried to spend the day without thinking about him but he was always on my back of the mind.

Macy wasn't talking to me. I was feeling alone.

"It doesn't suit you.", came a voice from beside me. I looked up to see a young guy.

Might be in his early twenties. He had dark brown hair and darker brown eyes. He was giving me a lopsided grin.

I narrowed my eyes and he laughed softly. He walked towards me and sat down by my side.

"Gin is very mild. You look the hardcore type. Gin n tonic doesn't suit you.", he said.

I scoffed. "Which pack are you from Alpha boy?", I asked c*****g my head. He raised a brow and smirked.

"Blood Moon. I'm the Alpha's brother.", he said.

"You have a very good guess.", he continued after taking a sip from his drink and he raked his hands from his already messy hair.

Blood Moon. I had guessed from his scent that he was from Alpha bloodline.

Blood Moon was a strong pack. Some Alpha Black is the Alpha there.

He was made the Alpha when he was just eighteen. The pack went through a lot.

I glanced up at the Alpha boy to see that he was staring at me. Not the lust filled or pervy stare, no. It was 'figuring out' stare. He was trying to figure out things about me.

I contemplated telling him a false name. Then thought, whatever.

"Audenzia. Alpha Audenzia Rodriguez. Thunder Moon.", I said extending my hand.

His eyes widened.

He straightened and returned my handshake firmly. "Darren Black."
