Hey guys! Here's a little notice/warning whatever you want to consider. In this chapter I'm going to use a third person pov. POV means point of view BTW. So, actually originally I wanted to do it in Audenzia's pov but then I also wanted to show Valencia's thoughts and feelings and pov. It was very confusing so I considered making this single scene in two chapters. One for Audenzia's pov and the other for Valencia's pov. But it would be very lengthy. So I'm doing this instead. In this chapter you'll get the same scene in both povs!
Very confusing I know. But I'll try to be specific and good. Enjoy!!
Third person pov
Audenzia sat in the office chair her face stoic and posture regal. Her eyes sharp and hard. In short, Valencia was facing Alpha Queen Audenzia Rodriguez and not her sister Zia. But Valencia had had enough of Zia's nonchalance so today she wanted to shatter her facade. Valencia put on her own poker face. The atmosphere in the room was tense, very tense. Valencia had to lay her cards very carefully if she wanted her sister to come out of the emotionless shell. She wanted her to think of her own happiness and she planned to do it today, at any cost.
Audenzia was no fool; she was a very intelligent person. She never failed, never. But Valencia wasn't any less. There wasn't a single deal she hadn't cracked, not a single investment or project that she failed. She bid her time thinking of the most effective way to c***k Zia's shell.
Both of the sisters eyed each other silently, figuring out each other. Valencia got up from her chair and began to casually examine things on the side tables a plan slowly forming in her head. Audenzia eyed her every movement like a hawk.
She had faced many big alphas, intimidating council members and adamant politicians head on. Her tactics and decisions never failed. She was always successful in achieving whatever she planned to achieve. This was the first time she was hesitating, she was afraid and unprepared. She never expected that she would ever have to face Vale. But whatever happened Audenzia never gave up.
After a few more minutes of very pregnant silence "So..." Valencia begun slowly flickering through a file on a far table. Audenzia steeples her fingers "So?" she echoed her voice cold. Valencia's grey eyes snapped from the file to meet Audenzia's brown ones. They both held each other's gaze, neither giving up. "So how are you?" Valencia asked not moving from her place. Audenzia raised a neatly shaped brow and c****d her head to the side "I'm quite surprised by the question itself. Never expected this to be the first question you would ask me." Audenzia replied not bothering to answer the question.
Valencia released a breath and chuckled humorlessly "Of course you didn't. But unlike someone, I don't pretend to care." Her icy and bitter words cut through the air like sword through silk. Audenzia's back stiffened and her eyes narrowed a miniscule.
"I heard you're a regular visitor here." Audenzia commented changing the subject. Valencia looked at her sharply, her jaw clenched and she already regretted the words that were about to leave her mouth "Well... what can I say, people do have hearts. Not everyone is born without a heart like you, My Lady"
Audenzia went rigid. This wasn't the first time someone called her heartless, in fact it has happened so many times that she couldn't even keep track of it. She never bothered to correct people. It was always Vale who answered them back, who cursed at them and tried to protect Audenzia, even though she didn't need it. It never got to Audenzia until now. This time the word hit somewhere deep in her soul, but she remained stoic, cold, hard. That's how an alpha is supposed to be- strong. And she was strong.
Valencia observed Zia closely, she noticed the moment she went rigid. She could see the hurricane of emotions behind those cold eyes. She wanted Audenzia to snap. So she had to continue, even though she would happily die rather than continue this conversation.
"Is there any particular reason you want to talk to me or you're here just for casual talk?" Audenzia asked ice dripping from each of her words.
Valencia eyed her "I'm as much uninterested in casual talk as yourself. Have you been living here these days?" She asked pointedly.
"Yes. Any problem with that?" Audenzia asked raising her brow and leaning back in her chair nonchalantly. "Any problem with that?" Valencia echoed gritting her teeth and standing in front of Audenzia. Audenzia's eyes flickered following her every movement.
Valencia scoffed humorlessly "Of course I don't have any problem. Why would I mind when you refuse to come to our parent's house all these years? Why would I mind that you didn't keep the promise we've made? Why would I mind that my ice block of a sister doesn't f*****g respect our deceased parents? Why would I f*****g mind? But you know what Audenzia? It very f*****g much matters to me. Because unlike you I come here regularly. Because unlike you I'm here every year on their death anniversaries, because unlike you I always stay in the house they built for us. Because unlike you I don't f*****g lock myself in my room in that period. IT.FUCKING.MATTERS!" Valencia snapped as angry tears streamed from her eyes. At this point Valencia wasn't sure if she was pretending any more. She wiped away her tears angrily and glared at the granite block that was her sister. Audenzia didn't even flinch when this happened.
Zia just blankly stared at her. Valencia took heavy breathes as she felt herself slipping away. She needed to focus on the mission she needs to accomplish.
Audenzia was feeling turmoil of emotions. She didn't know what to say or what to do. She never thought that all these years Vale was carrying so much bitterness in her heart. Her each word was a hard blow to the gut. But she remained silent. Audenzia never showed any of her emotions to anyone, not even to her sister. Nope, she wouldn't. As much as she wanted to hug her sister and cry with her she won't. She won't unleash what's going on inside her.
"Is that all?" Audenzia asked dismissing the subject like a lord would dismiss an unworthy commoner. Valencia's eyes glowed, showing her rage. Her fangs extended and her hands became claws. A feral growl left her.
"You know what Audenzia? I quite agree with people now. You're just a cold hearted – Oh wait! You're a heartless b***h. Who can't get past her problems and face the reality. Who despite being older never completed her responsibilities. Who rejected her mate! I was feeling quite sad for him, but now I don't feel sad anymore Audenzia because no one deserves a heartless, cold, calculating b***h as a mate. I'm sure Damian will find a wolf who can actually love him." Valencia spat slowly regaining control.
Audenzia felt her world crumble; she felt her heart shatter with each of her words. She wanted to slap her and hug at the same time. She wanted to scream and cry. She wanted to do so many things and she was beginning to lose control. So she did what she always does "If that's all you are dismissed Valencia. I no longer deem your presence important to me." She said so calmly as if there wasn't a storm bellowing in her insides.
"Excuse me?" Valencia asked in utter disbelief.
"Excused" Audenzia said.
"What the hell do you mean excused?" Valencia asked her eyes widened at her sister's nonchalance.
"I believe I was quite clear. But I will repeat if you want me to – You.Are.Dismissed." Audenzia said icily enunciating each and every word.
Valencia shook her head in disbelief she wanted to strangle the granite block replacing her Zia. It was as if whatever she did it didn't affect her. She gritted her teeth "As you wish Alpha" she spat and storm out not before muttering "Heartless b***h" under her breath which she was sure Audenzia heard.
Audenzia waited until she heard Valencia leave the pack house. When she was sure no one was in the hearing range, a howl so feral, so raw was ripped through her throat that the room shook.
