Chapter 12

Audenzia pov I'm standing in front of the Miami pack border. The sign that marks the territory is visible to me. It's enchanted to be visible to only the super-naturals. The sound of waves coming from the other side is very calm. There is silence everywhere except for the sound of waves, of course. I finally take a deep breath and decide to go inside. I start the familiar process of shifting but... but I can't shift. Macy cut me off. I take in a shaky breath. 'It's alright it's alright' I whisper to myself. I pass the pack border and I can feel the shadows following me. I keep walking calmly. A twig snaps in my right side and I turn my head to see a familiar wolf approach. The other one comes from the other side and the both of them start to encircle me like a predator would do to a prey. But I am far from a prey. I keep looking at them for a minute and then, scoff. "Seriously?" I asked shaking my head in amusement. The two she wolves growled playfully and shifted. Instead of the two identical wolves, stood two identical girls with the exception of only their hair color. Scarlet had fiery red hair and Violet had violet hair. They both had piercings on their faces and on places I better not name. Scarlet and Violet were Rick and Sarah's eldest daughters and they were identical twins. They both stood in all their naked glory. Nudity doesn't bother us werewolves. They grinned at me. "What do we have here?" Scarlet muses. "Hmm... let me think, a certain alpha who abandons half of her pack?" Violet retorts smirking lazily. I roll my eyes. "Is this how you greet your alpha queen?" I ask putting on a stern face. They shake their heads in amusement and hug me. I scrunch my nose in fake disgust "Off of me both of you. Keep those naked hugs for your mates." I say shooing them away. They laugh and withdraw. "Pack house?" Scarlet asks. "Pack house" I confirm. "Vale never stays in the pack house whenever she comes." Violet remarks and I freeze. "Vale... she comes here regularly?" I ask. "Yeah, she didn't tell you?" Scarlet asks casually as she jumps over a fallen log. "She didn't" I whisper softly. But I know they heard, because they nodded in unison. They both were much like Fred and George from Harry Potter. We cross the familiar paths in the silence of the night. I feel waves of nostalgia overwhelm me. This is the reason I never come here. Scarlet and violet pull some clothes hidden in a tree trunk and pull them over. I stop in my tracks as I see a painfully familiar turn. "I... Ahem can you umm... Give me some time? You guys can go. I'll join you later." I say. They turn to look at me and recognition flashes in their eyes. They both nod and walk away in the direction of the pack house. I slowly walk towards the place that held so much, but nothing at the same time. After a walk of about fifteen minutes I'm standing in front of a homey looking two storey house. The house looks a bit wild now that its unattended. Ivy has grown on its wall and the paint looks chipped. I start to walk on the gravel stones leading to the front porch. I reach out my hand to open the door and stop, shaking my head. No! Stop, Aud. You can't do it. You can't bloody do it. I say to myself and storm away from it. I run in the opposite direction to the pack house. I only stop running when I see the pack house nearing. I walk slowly and erase any traces of haywire emotions from my face. I'm shocked by the amount of people gathered in front of the pack house. I approach them and all of them give me warm smiles. A small smile starts to form on my face. They're here for me. They're here for me. I'm not alone. They love me despite me avoiding this place. Many of them are my dad's friends. Old and graying but warm as ever. I feel my chest tighten. As I walk nearer I'm suddenly engulfed in a bear hug. I know it's Ethan even before I look at him properly. I wrap my arms around him and smile. "How nice of you to grace us with your presence." He says sarcastically. I laugh nervously. I knew this would come. He pulls away from me and looks at me "Imagine my shock when I heard my stranger cousin is here." He says. I slap his arm playfully. "How are you I ask as I slip my arm in his. "Handsome and sexy" he replied with a wink. I roll my eyes and nudge him. "Cocky and arrogant." I mutter and he laughs. "We all are eager to meet her Ethan if you'll please." An older looking woman said gesturing him to go away. Ethan rolls his eyes and frees me. For the next hour I'm engulfed in so many fatherly and motherly hugs, bows and courtesies and small timid smiles. It feels so good to know that these people still love me. It's a relief but I also feel the guilt of ignoring them for personal reasons. I'm never going to do that again. The last ones to greet me are Charlotte and Hazel. "I don't know what to say to someone who's coming to their own home." Charlotte says pulling away. I shake my head. I don't say anything as the word home hits me. "Isn't it time for you to be back?" I ask Hazel, narrowing my eyes. She laughs nervously "Oh umm I..." I throw my arms around her. "Your parents miss you" I say. "You don't?" she asks. I clear my throat "That too." I say uneasily. "I'll be back once I've done enjoying." She says smiling mischievously. I chuckle. "Let's go in?" Charlotte asks. I nod my head and go in. Charlotte is Charles's twin and Hazel is Scarlet and Violet's younger sister.  The next week goes slow, painfully slow. Macy doesn't talk to me. I can't even feel her. My body and soul is in constant pain because of the rejection. My nights are filled with him. His dreams. I try, but fail to remove his image from my mind. I know he must be in pain too. Charles keeps me updated on everything that happens in there. So far, he hasn't told anyone about my whereabouts. I feel alone. I haven't felt so alone in all these years. I've always had either vale or Macy to talk to. But now... now I have no one.  Its after almost two weeks when I was getting back to the pack house after a late night stroll on the beach that I heard voices speaking. I went nearer to see who it might be this late at night and I was shocked. "Yeah, I thought I'd drop by...", It was Vale. She was talking to Ethan. Holy f*****g s**t! I need to go before she senses me. " I'll go... Zia? Zia?" too late now. I take a deep breath and turn to face my sister.  My face is stoic as I take her in. Her eyes narrow , she takes a step forward at me, "I think its high time we had a good talk, you and me."
