Kyle was the first to break the stunned silence.
“She came with Liam?” His mouth didn’t close all the way in the shock, his eyes wide as dinner plates.
Elaine walked alongside Liam, looking more radiant and refreshed than Lucas had ever seen her. For a moment, the thought that maybe she had been too tired and let down to shine that bright when she was with him. He didn’t know she could be so stunning.
Any thoughts of sympathy were gone when he saw Liam smile at Elaine as she whispered something to him.
Lucas’s jaw was clenched tight and his fists curled at his sides. His entire focus was locked on Elaine with her confident poise, her elegance, and her eyes that didn’t even flicker when they landed on him.
