Emma was absolutely thrilled!
She thought William was practically an angel today! So different from the devil he had been before. She reassured him over and over that Suzy was trustworthy and wouldn't breathe a word about this. Only then did William give a reluctant nod and warn her.
"Just try to keep a low profile when you go out, and don't do anything too attention-grabbing."
"Don't worry, Mr. Howard. I'll be careful," she promised, her voice full of enthusiasm.
With that, Emma practically skipped back to her room. If it weren't for being stuck in William's body, she'd have been bouncing around with joy. As it was, she still looked full of energy, practically glowing with happiness.
William watched her go, glancing at his own retreating figure with a furrowed brow. It felt… strange.
