When the manager arrived, Sybil's face instantly relaxed.
She adjusted her clothes and shot Emma a triumphant look. "Emma, I can't wait to see how you'll get out of this mess today."
She sneered. "You spent the night with a stranger and got kicked out of the Howard family's hotel. Our family can't bear this disgrace."
She glanced around the room, gesturing at the people watching. "And everyone here is a witness."
With a smug huff, she folded her arms.
Ten seconds later, the manager, Henry White, in a black suit, strode briskly into the room, his voice sharp with irritation. "What's going on here?"
"It's her!" Sybil tilted her chin toward Emma.
Henry's face tightened in a frown.
He had heard the gist of the situation on his way over.
'Another one of these scenes. I've seen enough of them in this hotel. But this is the first time I'm personally called in for one. Then again, this is the Anderson family we're talking about.'
The Anderson family, while notable, had seen a decline in reputation due to the current head's poor management, their prominence fading over the years.
Before he could speak, Emma intercepted him, her tone calm but firm, "Could we speak in private for a moment?"
Henry raised an eyebrow, finally looking toward the source of the voice.
As his gaze landed on Emma's face, he momentarily forgot to breathe.
Her striking beauty caught him off guard, but his glance quickly moved down as he assessed her fuller figure, which prompted a subtle twist of his lips.
'Bunaliz Hotel hosts countless elite events, but I've never seen a face like hers here, or a figure like that. She doesn't belong to any elite family I know of. That's for sure.'
He barely restrained his impatience as he replied with a hint of disdain, "If you have something to say, miss, feel free to say it here."
He barely glanced at her, but that single look made him pause unexpectedly.
Her green eyes seemed to emanate a chill so sharp it froze his veins.
The look in her eyes was out of place on such a beautiful face.
'There's something oddly familiar about her presence...'
Seeing him hesitate, Emma spoke again, her voice soft but with a cold edge that hit him like a gust of winter air, "Please, a private word."
After a moment's hesitation, Henry relented, taking a step toward her.
Then, Sybil scoffed loudly, her voice dripping with contempt. "What a shameless flirt."
With a toss of her hair, she crossed her arms, smirking.
"Henry, who would have thought you'd be so easily seduced? Oh, she bats her eyelashes, and suddenly she gets a private chat? Hope you don't take things to the bedroom along the way."
As she continued her tirade, Sybil's voice rose, full of indignation. "Honestly, if you can't even handle such a trivial issue, how are you running this hotel? Maybe it's time for new management."
Henry ignored her, walking over to stand before her with a determined expression.
Sybil tilted her chin up arrogantly. "Now that I've said my piece, kindly show them the door, will you? I mean, she has the audacity to pull a stunt like this here. She must be crazy."
She said, rolling her eyes, "Just get her out."
"Well," Henry said.
Henry gave a slight nod, which made Sybil's grin grow even wider. But his next words wiped the smile from her face.
"You're right, Ms. Anderson. Someone should leave, but that is you," Henry felt a flicker of doubt as he spoke.
'That girl whispered to me that Mr. Howard himself had this situation covered. Normally, I'd dismiss something like that. But she repeated word-for-word something Mr. Howard told me in private a few days ago. She has to know him.'
Sybil's face turned an angry shade of red, and she shrieked, "Do you even know what you're saying?! Throw me out? Do you have any idea who I am?!"
"Of course, Ms. Anderson," Henry replied, unperturbed. "But you caused a disruption here. We don't welcome troublemakers here. So, I must ask you to leave."
A ripple of laughter rose from the onlookers, their snickers adding fuel to Sybil's growing rage. She stormed up to Henry, her eyes blazing with defiance as she asked, "Do you understand who you're dealing with? I'm not just the Anderson family's heiress. I'm soon to be the future Mrs. Howard."
She narrowed her eyes, almost hissing, "I'm about to be engaged to William. I'll be your employer soon enough, and trust me, you'll be the first one I fire."
At this, Henry couldn't help but laugh aloud.
His last shred of doubt disappeared in that instant.
'The Howard Group has had no word of Mr. Howard getting engaged. If there were even a whisper of something so crucial to the company's interests, it would've leaked by now. All I've ever heard is that the Anderson heiress was infamous, a mere illegitimate daughter taken back into the family. But her delusions of grandeur are impressive.'
Done with her, Henry signaled to security to escort her out.
Just then, a man's breathless voice rang out from across the room. "Try it! See what happens!"
