I grabbed my phone to call the police but Sophia snatched it from my hand.
"What are you doing?" I tried to take it back. "We need to call someone. The FBI. Anyone."
"The moment authorities get involved they will kill him." Sophia's voice was steel. "Victoria made that clear. We need to do this quietly."
"Then what do we do?" My voice broke. "Just let her murder him?"
"No. We will find him ourselves."
Sophia was already dialing. Within minutes Julian arrived at the penthouse with three men I did not recognize. They wore all black and carried equipment that looked military grade.
