When He Said Yes

The Letter

Bianca’s first day was not a good one, before coming to campus because in the morning she had an argument with her mother about her studies. She lived alone with her mother in Colombia because her father had remarried and left them alone. He wanted to take Bianca with him but she stayed with her mother. Bianca was very quiet. Some old students were sitting at the main door of the campus and the most important of them was Justin. He got up and blocked Bianca’s path. Bianca was nervous but she didn’t show it. She kept looking into Justin’s eyes and Justin, too, was lost in her eyes. He forgot what he was about to do. His group keeps shouting from behind to give her a dare. We rag but he backs down and Bianca goes from there to her classroom. Justin keeps watching her leave and Bianca too, and then suddenly, all of Justin’s friends pounce on him and say “why did you let her go? Today is her first day and we are seniors here”. Justin says I don’t know what happened to me. I could not disturb her, her eyes were talking as if I just kept looking at her eyes. Justin’s friends tease him that he has fallen in love with his junior. It’s not like that, I was just not in the mood to do this, nor did I want to disturb her was, I just thought it was a joke, saying this and Justin also went towards the classroom. Justin was from a rich family, he was not interested in studies, nor did he have any special friends, just everyone wanted the luxury of his money, so they were with him. Justin had failed for the third time but he didn’t care at all. Neither his family members ever asked about his grades nor did he ever tell him. Justin went to the class and sat at the back and Bianca was sitting there to his right. Bianca saw him but Justin didn’t notice. He didn’t have books or a bag, so he pulled Bianca’s book towards him without looking at her. Bianca started staring at him continuously when Justin’s eyes fell on her and he was shocked. He didn’t think that this girl would be there. He starts to return her book while sliding it towards her, but Bianca says no problem" you read. Bianca writes on a paper that you said you are a senior? And she puts the paper in the book and slips it towards Justin. Yes I am but can’t explain, Justin wrote and slid it back. Bianca writes, then where are your books?

No one has ever asked me such questions, Justin wrote. As soon as the book is moved, the whole class ends, only they both remain sitting there. Clearing her throat, Madam says, “Will you both read all the books today only? This class is over and both of you can go now.

Blushingly, Bianca picks up all her books and bag, avoiding the eyes of madam and comes running outside. Bianca’s book is left with Justin on his desk. He comes out to look for Bianca but she is nowhere to be seen, then he takes her book home with him. When Justin reaches home, his parents are very happy to see that book in his hand, they feel that their son is studying. Giving a false smile, he quietly goes to his room, puts that book on the bed and falls asleep for a while. Bianca’s eyes and her face appear in his thoughts again and again and he wakes up suddenly. He looks at that book for a while, then picks it up, and suddenly a letter falls out of that book. By the way, he knew that it was a bad thing to read someone’s letter, but still, saying who is watching him here, Justin picked up the letter.

Dear dead,

I hate you because you didn’t come to visit us even once after leaving us and especially didn’t come to visit me, but more than that, I miss you too. Do you miss me too? Mother has also become like a very different nature. Now she is not the same as before. I want to send you this letter but do not have the courage. I think my mother will be angry with me for doing this.

Justin opened the letter and read it reluctantly and now he was regretting why he did it because his eyes were filled with tears after reading the letter. He started remembering the words spoken by his friends that you have fallen in love with your junior. He himself was starting to feel the same way and he became emotional after reading the letter.
