I opened my eyes, my head felt unbearably heavy—like I had slammed it into a brick wall. A dull, throbbing pain pulsed through my skull, making it almost impossible to focus. I turned my head slightly to the left, then back to the right, trying to gather my bearings. To my shock, I was in a hospital.
