FAMILY FRIENDS

The vacation looked longer than expected by Patty and her friends and the saddest part was that Blessed was quite a distant away from her besties. They communicated on social media through text but mostly through video calls.  They were all interns since they needed the working experience. Patty and Blessed also had to make preparations for their apartment since they were moving in together the next academic year. Joel on the other hand was able to compare his partying life with his internship. He also had quality time for Patty. He checked up on her with the little time he gets and Patty does same in appreciation. Patty was also handling her online business and hired a delivery guy to reduce the work load. Some weeks after she hired the delivery guy, he got involved in a car accident and couldn't work for Patty any longer since the doctor told him that he needed bed rest for a long time so Patty needed to hire another delivery guy. Party was lost in thoughts about hiring another delivery guy when Joel's call came in.

Patty: hey babe watsap

                             Joel❤️‍❤️‍: I'm good hunnie. You?

Patty : I'm good too. Just here lost in thoughts about getting a new delivery guy but don't worry I will get one soon. watsap with you.

                      Joel❤️‍❤️‍: nothing much. Aha I met                                Blessed yesterday in town and she 

                                promised to visit me next weekend 

                                    to know my house.

Patty: oh nice. I haven't spoken to her today so I didn't know. But it's cool since you guys are in the same town you can hangout because she has been stressed lately due to the internship and family issues. 

                          Joel❤️‍❤️‍: If you are the one 

                               asking why not. My boss just 

                               called me to his office so I will      

                                  FaceTime you later in the   

                                 evening okay. Byeee I love you❤️.

Patty: I love you more❤️.

Patty wasn't one of those girlfriends that limitted their partners to who they hanged out with or who they talked to. If she suspected something she would just let it and solve the problem if it could be solved. She believed that in a relationship there should never be a third party. Every problem should be discussed by the couples first and if they are unable to solve the problem they could consult an experienced person. Even if they consult their friends they should be able to take their own decisions and not others.

Patty's parents and Tony's parents became good friends and in no time they were family friends. They had lunch and dinner together most of the weekends, sometimes at Tony's house and other times at Patty's house or both parents chose a restaurant. This made Patty and Tony see each other often and both Blessed and Joel envied the fact that they hang out often. Patty and Tony's younger sister also bonded very well and gisted about stuff they didn't want their parents or Tony to know.  

A dinner was planned one weekend by the two families and it was to be held at Patty's house. Anytime a lunch or dinner was hosted at Patty's house she was very busy since she had to help her mum to clean, cook and set up the table. After setting up the table she went to her room to freshen up and prepare for the dinner. Anytime they were hosting a dinner or lunch her mum always wanted her to dress in order to look presentable in front of their guest so she did just that.  Tony and his family arrived at Patty's house on time. They were never late but always on time. They exchanged warm greetings and Tony's dad handed a bottle of wine to Patty's dad and they went to the dinning table to have their dinner after the table was completely set. They observed table manners and ate their food in silence because they knew they had enough time to chat after their  meal.  They retired to the sitting room to have their conversations after their meal. Party,Tony and his sister retired to Patty's room to have their talk giving their old folks some privacy. Mary fell fast asleep immediately she fell on the bed.

"This girl can never change. She falls asleep right after filling her stomach" Tony stared shaking his head.

"Just let her be"  Patty replied defensively.

"Finally we have a 'lone' time.  I'm really full I can't even move" Tony said in a lazy voice.

"Lazy  ass.  I'm really tired because unlike you I had to cook the food you enjoyed soo much that you are full" Patty replied while settling on her bed.

"Heheheeee....  I didn't ask you to cook for me ooo... you did that willingly"  Tony replied with a smirk.

"You are soo annoying... I wish we worked at the same office" Patty said with a sigh.

"Yeah me too. I'm soo used to being around you. How is Joel" Tony asked.

"He is fine by grace.  I miss him too but it's all a process" Patty replies with a sad face.

"School will resume soon. Have you changed the delivery guy yet ??" Tony asked Patty since her former delivery guy had an accident and had to take bed rest.

"Yeah I got one two days ago.. sorry I didn't tell you I forgot" Patty replied in an apologetic tone.

"I think we should join the old folks downstairs I'm sure by now they are done gisting" Tony said while waking Mary up.

They returned to the sitting room where their parents were. They talked about different topics and laughed over the little things. Patty and Tony were really glad that their parents were also friends. It made them feel that their friendship was never going to end. Tony and his family showed their appreciation  to Patty's parents and exchanged hugs and were ready to leave. Tong called Patty later to inform her he was home. His parents also phoned Patty's parents to thank them for the evening.

It was a Saturday afternoon and Joel was about to go out to hang out with his friends when he had a call from an unknown number. He answered and it was a females voice at the other end of the call.

Unknown caller: hello Joel good afternoon how are you doing.

Joel: I'm doing great. Please who I'm I speaking with?

Unknown caller: Oh sorry my bad it's Blessed I got your number from Patty. I am in the neighborhood and I called to check if  you are around so I can know your place.

Joel: oh okay that's cool.  Just walk down the road and press the bell on the fifth gate on your right.

Blessed: okay I will call you when I get there.

Joel: all you have to do is press the bell and you will be ushered in.

Blessed:  Okay thank you. Bye

Joel: Bye.

Blessed was able to locate the gate and was ushered in by the security man when she pressed the bell. She informed him that she was looking for Joel and the man asked her to knock on the main door. Joel opened the door once she knocked and he ushered her in.

Joel:  welcome. Please make yourself comfortable. What would you like to drink.

Blessed:  Thank you. Oh nothing I'm cool. What have you been up to.

Joel: just working and chilling with the my boys. You??

Blessed: good for you ooo... for me I'm just working. You know how girls are.... we hardly meet we just text.

Joel: oh cool. Some of our female friends come around too so you can come. You can also come with a friend. The more the merrier.

Blessed:  Oh okay that's nice. Just let me know when next you guys plan to link up.

Joel: sure. 

Blessed: you have a nice place.

Joel: Thank you. So where are you off to??

Blessed:  There is an old classmate of mine in the area and I decided to visit her since I was bored. My house is on the next two junction which is just 30minutes ride from here.

Joel: oh nice that's why I saw you in town the last time. Cool then you can hung out with us often. 

Blessed: Now that I know your place I would like to take my leave now.

Joel: so soon??

Blessed: Yeah. Just lemme know when there is a program or a linkup you would like me to be part of to catch my cools and I will be there. 

Joel: oh yeah sure. I will save your contact. 

Blessed: okay bye...

Joel: bye and thanks for the visit.

Blessed left and returned back to her house. She was excited since she could now hangout to relieve her stress. She told Patty about her visit to Joels' when they were on phone and Patty was cool at least her friends and her boyfriend are getting along well. They were cool on campus but not the best of friends . Joel was only with them when Patty was around and he and Patty spent time together alone often. Joel also mentioned the visit to Patty later that evening when they FaceTimed each other. They never hide anything from themselves and it made Patty feel secured.
