‘ROOMMATE WAHALA’

Its very disturbing and surprising how people can be the best of friends today and then graduate to being enemies the next day. There was something going on in Patty's room that she didn't like. The relationship between Patty and her roomies was very unhealthy. These where people who connected the very first day they met. Everything became wierd. It just worsened day by day. It all started when Rejoice had issues with her boyfriend. She really loved the guy even though she acted like she didn't. She was frustrated to the extent of taking it out on everyone. At first her roomies just overlooked it but couldn't contain it at some point. She wasn't ready to listen to anyone. She was an ulcer patient but she went days without food and this triggered Gloria to inform her mum. Rejoice was really mad at her for involving her mum and went ahead to burn most of Gloria's clothes, shoes and bags. Gloria was really mad at her and decided not to ever talk to her. Hannah and Patty were not in support of what Rejoice did but she wasn't willing to apologize. Rejoice went to the extent of telling Hannah's crush that she was obsessed with him and always talked about him but didn't want to be the one to make a move. The guy also told some if his friends. The guy's friends spread the information they had to a w*****p group. Hannah's picture went viral with the caption 'the obsessed b***h' and this affected her badly. They were all surprised that Rejoice would go that far.

"I still can't believe that Rejoice will do this to me. My pictures are everywhere and everyone is thinking that I'm obsessed with the guy. I thought we were friends. At this point I don't want to be friends with any of you and I will move out next semester since this semester is almost done." Hannah voiced out in tears.

"I'm sorry for what she did to you. I'm not going to say that I understand you because I sincerely don't. I was really surprised when I came back from the library only to see that she has burnt my stuff. This is all her fault because she was the one who acted as if she didn't care or like that guy and now that he is messing up with other girls she is taking it out on us. I think its high time we talk some sh!t into her" Gloria ended angrilyy.

"You guys should calm down okay. I'm sorry for everything. I think we should just ignore her until she's straight. I will also try to talk to her okay" Patty concluded.

"Just make sure she doesn't hurt you just like she did to us" Gloria warned.

Patty didn't know how to go about it but she felt she had to since things were getting out of hand. There was always bad energy and tension in the room anytime Rejoice was there.

Exams was in three weeks and going to the library everyday was now a tradition. Even though they always went to the library they skipped it at times but it wasn't going to be like that any longer. After their library hours Blessed asked Patty if she had been able to talk to Rejoice. 

"Hmmmm...I'm low-key scared ooo.....you know how emotional I am. I don't want her to do anything to mess me up. On the other side too I really want to help her" Patty said sounding worried.

"As for you ladies dier...today it's this problem tomorrow it's another. You guys should go for counseling" Tony suggested with a worried look.

"Hmmm....it is well" in Patty's voice.

Patty wanted to settle this issue once and for all because exams was approaching and they didn't need all the bad energy so she decided to take Tony's advice by reporting her room for counseling. Their room was scheduled to meet the hostel's counselor during the weekend since they will all be available.

They went for counseling but Rejoice was scheduled for two more appointments. She finally apologized to her roomies. Even though everything was settled things couldn't just go back to normal. No matter how hard they tried but it was better than before.

Exams was in a week and Patty was already stressed. Joel asked her to take a break before she breaks down when exams was finally in session. Joel decided to take her out to the beach. They went to the beach and Patty finally felt relaxed. They enjoyed the silence until Joel started a conversation.

"Don't you get tired of learning?"

"Do I have a choice....I'm in school to learn so that's what I'm doing"

"You are such a nerd and frankly speaking I get jealous with the kind of attention you give to your books. I wish I were your book"

"You are very funny. I still make enough time for us. Don't I?"

"Oh yeah..  but I want to spent more time with you"

"Even if I spend a year with you alone I'm sure it won't be enough"

After a day well spent they retired to their hostel and apartment. These couple were just soo perfect together. How they grew to love each other over a few months was mind blowing. 

So examination day had just sprung up and after a few weeks they were over. It was after their last paper that Patty realized that she had really missed home and couldn't wait to embrace her parents. Examination was over but it was up to them as to when they wanted to go back to their various homes. Patty's mum knew about Joel but her Dad didn't. She wanted to tell her Dad during the vacation instead of informing him on phone that she was dating. For a typical African father she would be doomed but Patty wasn't bothered because her father always supported her decisions and choices even though he was strict. 

Even though Patty was happy about going home she was going to miss her boyfriend since they were far apart. Literally, they were 8 hours apart by bus and an hour and half apart by flight. To top that up she wasn't going home to rest because she had to be an intern and also manage her business all by herself. She had all these in mind but was calm because Tony and her roomies were also Accra based just like her. Blessed was also Kumasi based. They all decided to hangout before they journey back home. They went to the beach two days before their trip back home. They had all the fun they could get. Patty was happy and thanked God for the people He had brought her way. It was a day well spent after their 'examination brouhaha' and it was the best way to release their stress. Patty was wrapping up with her packing when she had a call from Joel.

"Hello babe"

"Tricia w*****p?"

"I'm just here.. wrapping up with my packing...your side?"

"I'm cool...can we go out this evening?"

"Are you for real?? We are both traveling tomorrow and it's going to be a long journey especially yours"

"Sooo??""

"Soo we need to rest and prepare for the journey"

"I'm not complaining...see I'm not going to see you for three good months and I feel sick just thinking about that. Just wrap up with your packing I will pick you up at 5pm ok"

"Yes sir..."

"I will call you when I get to your end...see ya later...I love you...byee"

"I love you too...bye"
