WINTER'S POV
I saw Jane off about three hours later. The only reason that even happened was because she has an afternoon shift, and she has to be there on time to train some new employee.
"You have to give that man a real chance. You can't keep going this way."
"What way?"
"Don't give me that. You know very well what I'm talking about."
"Fine." I relented. I had always gone into all my relationships with one leg. I was always waiting for the other shoe to drop. "I'm going to open my heart up so he can trample on it."
