"So he didn't say no." I tell Jane the next day.
"Why do you sound happy about it?"
"I do?"
"Yes, it's almost like you're happy that he didn't give you a specific answer."
"He didn't say no. Meaning he's still considering it."
"He might say no."
"Then I'll know he really has no other choice than to say no, and then I might stick to online class. Considering the security and his line of work, it would be totally justified for him to say no."
"Alright, I hear you." She doesn't really understand why I'm so ecstatic about it. If he had said no, it would have meant he was saying no to me and my dreams.
"Do you feel better?"
"Better? I feel fantastic."
"I'm glad to hear that."
"Now, if I can get her to tell me what magic she used."
