WINTER'S POV
"I don't think she likes me very much."
"Marj? I think she's very sweet. You just have to get to know her first."
"I don't think that will be happening." He was instantly alert, ready to confront what he thought was the problem.
"Why do you say so? Did she say something to you?"
"Nothing, she said nothing." He didn't seem to believe me, and I didn't want to cause a scene, so I came to her rescue. "I haven't even spoken to her, she just looked so closed off."
"I see. Did you meet her yet?"
"No, Kaden didn't bring her around yet."
"She should have come to you to introduce herself if the boss hasn't."
"Like you said, she's probably shy." I defended her weakly because if he thought I wasn't telling the truth, he would tell Kaden, and he would blow it out of proportion.
