I was completely thrown off by that question. Of all the things I expected him to ask, I never thought he wouldn't know when my birthday was.
"My birthday? Kaden, you don't know when my birthday is? After all the background checks you did on me."
"I don't know why, but it never came up, I guess. I just realized that I might have missed your birthday, and I don't trust that you would actually tell me."
"You're right. If you had missed it, I wouldn't have said anything about it." I said honestly. It wasn't even going to be because I was mad or anything, but I don't like birthdays. In the words of my wise father, they were quite unnecessary.
