A knock on my door interrupted my studying. I was expecting my dad home early from work but ended up being surprised when Kaden opened the door and peaked his head in.
"Hey," he smiled.
My eyebrows pulled together as I sat up straighter on my bed. "Hi... what are you doing here?"
Kaden shrugged, opening the door further. "I came to see Avery but she's busy doing her nails while talking on the phone with one of her girls," he told me. "Mind if I come in?"
I shook my head as I watched him walk in and close the door behind him.
"Studying hard, I see."
I smiled softly but it wasn't heartfelt, "Yup."
Kaden nodded, coming over to the bed to take a look at the scattered papers all over the place. "Need any help?"
I sighed, leaning back, "No, I'm good. Thanks though."
