“What the hell are you doing?” Ashvin barked, his voice low and sharp with Alpha command as he stormed toward me. I stood my ground, refusing to budge as I held onto the wounded pack warrior who bled freely, the scent of his blood strong and bitter in the air. “I said, what the hell are you doing?” Ashvin repeated, now in front of me. The heat of his anger rolled off him in ripples, his teeth just barely visible beneath the snarl threatening to break through. His muscles tensed, his eyes glowing faintly with his wolf’s fury. But I didn’t care. I wasn’t afraid of him. Not today. “What does it look like I’m doing?” I shot back, my voice matching his growl. “I’m doing what needs to be done.” His golden irises tightened as he glared at me, irritation glinting like wildfire.
