Kai sat beside me as we listened to the endless complaints from the elders and the people as they grumbled about every minor inconvenience as if the world itself conspired against them.
It was a good season for our pack. The grasses were flourishing, the seeds had begun germinating, and yet, they still found something to whine about.
“I’ve heard you, Marcus,” I said, leaning back against my chair. “I’ll send some Omega farmers to look into your problem.”
The old man nodded, smiling in satisfaction before bowing and rejoining the others.
“Anyone else?” I asked, scanning the group. They exchanged glances, silently determining that they had nothing more to say. Good.
