Mate.
I could hear the word echoing in my head, his mate. Ashvin’s mate.
As I trembled in his arms while he handed me a change of clothes, I still couldn’t believe what had happened.
“You better believe it,” she spoke again, this time the happiness in her voice was impossible to contain. “I’ve been waiting for this since forever.”
I sighed as I pulled the dress over my aching body, my hands still shaking. I thought I was prepared for this. I thought I would know how to control myself. But the sound of her voice inside me still made me tremble.
