You can’t always control when someone walks into your life, and you certainly can’t choose when they leave. All you can do is learn from the experience, adjust the pieces of your heart that were left shattered, and move forward. The moving forward part was always the hardest.
I was lost in my thoughts, trying to ignore the voice of Dr. Amos echoing in the lecture hall as he wrapped up the day’s lecture. My mind, however, was elsewhere—on Chen. Again.
