The folder opened without sound.
Just a list of files. No fireworks. No cinematic warnings. Just a quiet reckoning in code.
Lana leaned closer to the screen, her breath catching slightly as she scrolled.
There were six files inside.

Lana hovered the cursor over the first one. “Witness statement?”
“Let’s start there,” I said, voice quiet. My mouth was dry.
She opened the .txt file.
It was a single page.
