The event was about to end, the sun was about to hide below the horizon. Everyone was outside the park now, waiting for the parade. The streets were cleared out and the pedestrian paths were filled with people, eager and excited to see the floats.
Finally a cheer erupted when they heard the beating of drums and soon the Spring Falls High matching band was in view, wearing their signature red and black. The sound was deafening, but everyone was enjoying the moment and screaming above the marching instruments. Followed by the band was a float depicting the battle of Maple woods which took place towards the end of American Civil War, hundreds of years ago when George Spring with the help from his men was able to protect the local civilians.
