Not like Us

Chapter 18

Lamang was striding towards the crowd. Blending in with his round ears and eyes. His white hair still stood out but his hair was beyond his power.  His clothed stood out the most. He looked like he was cosplaying or he looked like he was acting on a theater for he really looked like a prince. His also looked like he lost a lot of blood due to his fair skin.

 There were a lot of teenagers having fun. There were also people who looked like they were not from the town. Jumping up and down following the beat of a music, on the ground where lights where changing colors and the sounds were in a full blast.

He looked around the area and he noticed there were girls looking at him from head to toe and were trying to steal his attention through blocking his way to the crowd. He just noticed that he was now being surrounded by girls. This was one of the reason why he was forbidden to step foot in the human world for they do not have any idea about his destiny and one might poisoned the mind of Lamang to get against his destiny.

"Are you a foreigner?" A girl asked. He lowered down his head and all he could see was what she was wearing. She was wearing a black crop top and a black short shorts. The style was familiar to him as he remembered that someone was wearing an almost the same outfit the first day that they met.

He shook his head. He should clear his mind. He needed to focus on his mission on why he was blending in with humans, right now. He passed the human girls and continued to stride his long and thin legs on the crowd. The lights on the surrounding made him not to have a clear vision of his mission. Those who were not from the town were in danger.

As he continued walking, he bumped in to someone. He looked down to check who it was. It was five boys who were wearing their black sleeveless and loose pants. The veins on their arms were popping. They had chains hanging around their necks and piercings on their eyes. They were looking up at him. One of the boys, which Lamang assumed as the leader, pushed him harshly. He had a tattoo all over his body. The boy moves his jaw up and down and spat out the chewing gum to Lamang. The boy pushed Lamang one more time. “Who are you?” He stepped forward and Lamang did that as well to get through him.

“I am not done talking to you,” the boy said and grabbed Lamang’s wrist and turned him around to face him. The other boys encircled him.

“I do not have time to waste on you,” Lamang admitted and pulled his wrist away.

The men did not let him through and they all pushed him to step back.  

“What was all your problem?!” Lamang burst in a loud voice. They were delaying his mission. He could not apply strength to them for they might notice that he was not just an ordinary human. His strength was not incomparable to humans.

“You!”

Other men poke him on his chest.

“You were stealing every girls glance! They were turning us down because of you!”

They pushed Lamang and passing him to one after another. There were girls who were trying to stop them but with their stare they stepped back. They were one of the thugs in the town and no one dares to messed with them. Lamang softly chuckled and later turned into a loud laugh. Everyone that could here Lamang’s laugh went to their direction. It was a funny how the men here were intimidated by his looks though they do not have nothing to worry about. They were all wasting both of their time. The men were agitated by his sudden laughed. They were veins forming unto their heads and hands turning into fist. This was the first time that they were not taken seriously. He hurt their pride. The leader of the group was about to threw his fist unto Lamang but Lamang immediately avoided it.  He need to get out from this situation as soon as possible.  

As he looked around the area, he saw the thing that he was chasing. IIt was a black thing floating around and no human could see it. It was on it’s way to look for a victim. It was giggling and smirking as it saw Lamang being  surrounded by humans which means he could not use his power to eradicate him. Lamang was just alone. He heard the thing escaped from the dungeon. It was so fast that the guards could not even catch it. He never noticed that it had enter his room. He just saw it as it went it inside the portal. None of the guards knew that the thing passed through the portal Lamang opened and went to the human world. He could not informed them as well as he would be questioned on why he was opening a portal to the human world.

He ran towards the thing’s direction. He lightly shove away the people who was blocking his way to get near it but it was fast and it escaped Lamang’s eyes.   

The people looked at him with a judgement on their eyes. How could he just run and stopped and looked around like looking for something that they could not see? The men who were from the a group of thugs shook their head. They thought they were wasting their time and hurting their pride for someone who had a mental incapacity. A man who just laughed despite of being surrounded with thugs who doubled his size and a man who ran and stopped and looked around, he looked like he was indeed crazy. The people were already making a distant away from him. Those who do not have any idea about what was happening tried to see what was happening.   

Lamang continued spinning around on his spot looking for the thing. He could not see.

“You are worthless,” Lamang heard something whispered on his right ear.  He faced  the right but just like earlier he could not see anything. It was really faster than him. It laughed near his left ear.

“You are worthless,” the creature repeatedly said.

“You have no use.”

“You are doomed to be alone forever.”

“A prince who could not even secure an heir.”

“Turn against your destiny.”

Lamang covered his ears.

“Turn against your destiny.”

“Turn against your destiny.”

“Get away from me,” Lamang said.

“Turn against your destiny.”

“Stop. I said get away from me!”

How could he be so careless? He was in his human form. He was vulnerable. The creature took advantage of it. It was brainwashing him to do something that should not. Just like how he brainwash other people’s mind to do something unethically.  

Lamang covered his ears tightly but it was no use. He covered his ears with his arms and curled himself so the creature would not have an access to his ears but it was still useless. The creature were already taking his mind over. The creature was filling him in with dark thoughts.

“Get away from me!”

“Get away from me!”

“ Get away from me!”

Lamang repeatedly shouted.

A few minutes later, he felt a soft touch on his shoulders. He looked at the person that made him back from reality. He saw the face of the person that he longed to see. He saw Bella. He reached for her face and suddenly his vision were in a blurry until it became a total blackout.
