The weird pup

1469 Words
I have an ability. It took me a long time to understand what it was because no one believed in me. I first discovered this in the pup training. Pup training is not regular training more like a kinder garden. We learn what means to defend our self’s playing, and the hierarchy of the pack.  I always could smell people. I know when someone is approaching me by the way they smell. Sometimes I catch the same smell in different people, and that when it all started. Pups playing hide and seek, and I won 6 times already. “Is no fun playing with Aleena she always finds us in no time.” Alec the son of the alpha whines.  “Is not my fault you guys smell.” All the girls laugh. “We do not smell.” Brian the son of the Beta. “Yes, you do," I respond. “Aleena is not nice to say that people smell.” Flavia the warrior in charge of pup training. “But they all smell. Alec smells like pine trees and freshwater. Brian smells like an oak tree and mint.” Flavia looks at me with a strange look. “Aleena how can you be so precise to how do they smell?” “That’s because she is always in the woods around the dirt and the grass.” Taya one of the pup’s spits. “Maybe you got the smells mixed, because of the forest smell.” Flavia tries to reason. “No. That is their smell, just like I smell, all of them. Just like a smell the same scent in the girls as the boys.” I speak looking at her. “Wait. You smell the girls also?” Flavia lifting a brow, “Yes. Taya smells like Bruce, they have their smells, but they have the same chocolate smell.” That makes her froze. “Aleena do not say that again. Is an offense to us werewolves!” Flavia angry “But is the truth!” “Taya have you been with Bruce?” Flavia turns to the pups. "No. Yuck. She always says this stuff. Like I smell or Alec smells. She said that about everyone.” Taya speaks pointing at me. “OK, Aleena I need you to go with me to talk to the Alpha.” Flavia picks my hand. “Why. I have not done anything wrong.” I whine to her. “You cannot go around saying those stuff. I will mind linking your parents also.” She then minds links someone to come to take care of the pups. Once that person arrived, she speaks to her something. Then takes me by the hand pulling me to the Alpha office. “Let’s go, your parents are already with the Alpha.”                 “Aleena is in trouble!" Alec yells.  “That because she tells us we smell.” Taya yells “Aleena is smelly. Ya, that is. Smelly Aleena.” Brian chants. Everyone starts saying the same, and I look at them. “Pup behave or do you all want to see the Alpha also?" Flavia tells and everyone shuts up. But as I was walking thru the door. I hear Taya yell. “Smelly Aleena.” Once we got up to the office of the Alpha. Flavia knocked and waited until the Alpha responded to come in. Once we got in, I run to my mom's arms. “What is up Aleena?” I say with my head buried in her chest. “The kids are calling me Smelly Aleena.” Mother shared a look with my dad. He sighs. Kids can be cruel at this age. “Is that all Flavia? “The Alpha said looking at her. “There is more Alpha.” She turns to my parents. “Aleena goes around saying that people smell.” My father looked at her. “She is a pup. I normal for them to be a little truer than us.” Flavia shows sad eyes. “Not in a normal way. She can describe the smell of boys and girls. Not only that, she told me that Taya smells like Brian.” Everyone froze and looked at me. “Princess is that true?” Father asks looking at me in my mother's lap. “Yes. Taya has the same chocolate scent as Brian.” My mom puts her hand on my head. “Aleena, that is an awfully bad accusation.” Alpha Oscar. I look at him in confusion. “Aleena.” My mother calls and I lift my head to look at her. “Saying that someone as the same scent is the same as saying that they are together. Do you understand?” I did not understand but keep on telling them. “But they do.” “Aleena. The punishment for lying is to stay in the cell for a week. No sun lights.” Alpha Oscar said in a threatening tone. I look straight into his eyes, "But I am not lying.” He gets up. “Enough. If you ever talk about people having the same smell. You will have to go to the cells. is that clear? “I was never the one to shut up. “But I.” Got interrupted by my father with a strong voice. “Aleena no.” I just got my eyes on the floor. “Yes, father.” Tears trying to come out of my eyes. “Do has the Alpha said. You are never to talk about this anymore. Understood?" I was now on the verge of tears. "Yes, father.”, “And what do you say to the Alpha?” I keep my head down. Did not want to look at the men that made my father talk to me this way. “Yes, Alpha. I will never speak of this anymore.” He sat back down. “That is a good girl Aleena!" Alpha said with a softer voice, but still, the warning was there. Then my father and mother asked to be excused and that me home. Alpha gave permission and stayed talking to Flavia. I was behind them. Mother and father were talking to one another. “She is doing that again.” While glancing at me sometimes. “Don’t worry Alpha made an order. She will not talk about it anymore." She glanced at her father. "But did you see her respond to the Alpha? We are lucky we have a comprehensive Alpha. Never once I sense her shiver at is voice, is not normal.” Then father glances at me then at her. “You are thinking too much. She is the same as the others, only as a better smell sense. She will make a great warrior and tracker.” Mom Sighs. “Hope you are right dear.” Then they look at me. “Come here, Princess.” I look at him. “I…” He looks at me. “Aleena.” No chance to reply. I close my mouth and walk with them my head looking at the floor I wanted to cry. But I could not cry in the packhouse. I was already told of. Last time Alec pushed me to the floor because I told him he smelled like Asli. And he told me that is not possible, that Asli is a crying girl pup. That makes her cry, so I punch him. And he pushed me until I landed on the floor and started crying. Alpha came to see what the noise was and told me to get clean. That the packhouse is not for playing. Once we got home, I run to my room to cry. Your house was the 5th from the packhouse, my parents decided to live in a house and not the packhouse, since I was born. My parents stayed at the door looking at me running up the stairs. I cried until I could not cry anymore no one believed me, not even my parents. But I know what I can smell. My brother walked into my room a few hours later. Sat beside me in silence and let me lean to his lap sobbing. We have the same age. He is always on my side. “Why did you do that sis? You know now everyone will call you Smelly Aleena.” I clean my eyes and look at him. “But is true." He gives me a Kleenex. "Maybe is better if you do not talk until they forget about it.” I look at him with a sad expression. “But.”, “Aleena. You are my little sister. I will protect you. But you have to stop doing that ok?” I nod my head and lean in his lap. And fell asleep in it. After that day, the kids started calling me Smelly. My brother to protect me started fights with them. Until Luna Marie came done to the training and saw it happening. She broke the fight in Luna's voice. That there will be no more fights or name callings, or everyone will go to the Alpha office. And everyone stops calling me that, in front of others. But in the back, and when nobody is watching they still call me. And now I am 16 years old turning 17 next month, my brother and I are the last ones making 17. Everyone is expecting our anniversaries to start planning the Chosen Matte Ball. “The excitement is excruciating.” Sense the sarcasm.
