"Bebe!" I hear my best friends voice ring through the room at I enter my office in the museum. "Catherine how was last night?" I chuckle setting my purse on my desk and taking a seat. I open my laptop to check my emails and Catherine runs over to me throwing her arms around my shoulders. He blonde long hair flying over my face, blocking my view from the laptop.
"He was so weird!" She cheerfully chimes twirling the curls on my head around her fingers. "He kept going on and on about his two cars.." she goes on about her story and I half listen. I love her but she talks a lot. I tell her all the time not to just blurt out whatever comes to mind. 'Too carefree' I think with a inward giggle. I grab my note pad out my purse and begin to start flipping through the book looking for a notes I took yesterday and stare at the neatly scribbled phone number on the pad.
For a moment I find myself thinking, 'he really didn't seem all that bad.' and start for my phone until I hear Catherine squill and snatch the book from my hand.
"What's this?" She smiles waving the pad in the air. "Nothing really...." I sigh missing her eyes. This only, however, seemed to peek her interest. She creeps over to me slowly, placing her shiny pink manicured nails on my desk and lower her head in front of my. "Is it a guyyyyy...?" She questions, a I start to work on some paper work setting in a pile on my desk, flipping through making myself seem busy. "He didn't even tell me his name." I admit. An even louder squill escapes from her as she starts jumping up and down. Her bright red heels clanking with every hop.
"It's not that exciting." I respond dryly and she instantly stops and sits on my desk. "Cattt..." I whines since I hate when she sits on my desk, she simply ignores my pleads and continues talking. "Not exciting? For you to even take a guy's number now, he had to be something..... Call him."
"Call him?! The very next day?"
"You're right, you're right. That does seem a little desperate." She thinks for a moment staring at me. "We'll think about when to call him later but you." She inches closer to my face, causing me to roll my eyes and laugh. "So... What does he look like hm?" She smirks.
I think about rather to tell her or if it'll only make her worse. 'If don't tell her, she's just gonna bug about it all day.' With that thought I decide to just tell her. "Tall, brown, Hazel eyes, perfect smile, dimples, toned body..." I start to get a little side tracked and she's absolutely loving it.
"Oh you are calling him!"
"I thought we already said that's to desperate?"
"You can be a little desperate over a man like that! Show some interest. You don't gotta sleep with the guy." I flinch when she says the last bit, making her pause and pat my back with a bit of a more serious and sorry expression on her face. "Sorry, scratch that last bit."
"It's fine." I try to play like I don't even care. She nods and continue to on in a gentler tone.
"Maybe this is fate. A man like that doesn't come around everyday, and I bet you calling him would just make his day too."
I set my papers down and tap my nails on the table. "Fine." I throw my hands up in a surrendering pose and she instantly goes back into to her normal cheerful self.
"Do it now!!"
"Um no, I have work to do and a meeting with a new client soon. I'll call him when I get a chance." She frowns.
"Oh come on! Soon as you get busy you'll put it off and never do it." She takes the mini callender from my desk and checks my schedule. "You have plenty of time and work fast. Do it right now and then I promise to leave you alone to your work for the rest of the day." I sigh
"How about I do it at my lunch break" I look to my watch, 8:55 A.M. "Its so early he's probably still alseep or busy with whatever work he has."
"Okay okay I can compromise." She sings as she skips to my door, before she leaves she turns around and sings to me. "I'll be back to check later though." Smiles and skips happily away.
I sigh and chuckle to myself. Then continue to work.
Hours later and my meeting has just ended. I decide to fill out a couple more forms before I take my lunch. If it's one thing cat got right it's my procrastinating. I will overwork myself to avoid a situation.
Bout half an hour in. My stomach started to growl and a tap on my door makes me look up. Catherine is standing there with Chipotle in her hands smiling.
"Someone sounds hungry."
"Starving." I smile and she skips in, grabbing a chair from the corner as she heads my way. I start to reach for the bag but she pulls away.
"Ah ah ahhh, in order to eat this delicious food I bought you. You have to make a phone call first."
Rolling my eyes I pull my note pad and phone out, dial the number. It rings for a while, and right when I was going to decide to hang up. It stops and a low voice answers.
"Hello."
