60: Never Letting You Go

- Audrey's pov I should have known the last day wouldn’t let me leave quietly. Wrap days never do. There was always a loose thread, some unfinished business, something—or someone—you’ve been successfully dodging that suddenly decides to clock in. In my case, it was Matteo. Four days. Four entire days of carefully orchestrated avoidance. Strategic scheduling. Delegating tasks that would require me being at the shoot location. Hiding behind ‘urgent’ emails. Leaving rooms before he entered. Entering rooms after he left. And I almost made it to the finish line. Almost. “That’s a wrap, everyone!” Matteo’s voice cut through the air, surprisingly energized despite the fourteen-hour day. “That’s a wrap. Fantastic work this week. Truly.” There’s a ripple of applause, tired but satisfied.
