Chapter 32 Jake The room was dimly lit, illuminated only by the faint light filtering through the curtains. The clock on the nightstand read 1: 37 a.m., but sleep seemed elusive tonight. Lying on my side, I watched Daphne as she shifted restlessly in bed. Her breathing was irregular, and her subtle movements told me she couldn’t fall asleep.
