The Alpha's Moonlight

CHAPTER 2

Kane POV

Waiting on the front porch of the Hidden Moon Pack’s house for their new alpha to arrive so I can go home to take care of my own pack. I am Kane Lake and I am the Alpha of the Crystal Moon Pack in New Hampshire the 2nd largest pack in the United States. The Alpha King asked me to watch over this pack a month ago while he chose a new Alpha.

All I know about the new alpha is that he is coming from the 2nd largest pack in the world and a bunch of boxes showed up last week with four of my dream cars a silver Lamborghini Aventador with blue racing stripes, a red corvette stingray, a matte black mustang, and a silver McLaren 570S. The Lamborghini has been hard to ignore since it has been sitting on front of the guest house where I am staying. The only hint I have about the driver is from the surfing and peace sign stickers on the back bumper and the Hawaii license plates. I noticed that some of the boxes had peace signs on them instead of a name, so I opened the box full of books to see if we had anything in common. The first thing I see is my favorite book Dragonriders of Pern. As I pick up the book, I notice I had cut my finger and a drop of blood got on the spine of the book.

After an hour of waiting a black car drives up and two of the largest men that I have ever seen they have to be at least 6’7” and 6’10” and the power radiating off them is strong step out of the car and walk towards me.

“You must be Alpha Lake” the man with black hair and violet eyes that look familiar shook my hand and introduced himself and the man beside him

“I’m Alpha Kaiden Shaw and this is my Beta, Hunter Lowell. Thank you for looking after this pack till I was able to take over”.

“No problem, and you can call me Kane. If you need anything just call, but I was wondering if I could take the Lamborghini for a spin it is beautiful?” thinking it would be the only time I might be able to drive one of these beauties.

“I would let you, but that is my sister’s car and she is very protective of it, and she lets on one drive it. That and she can be a little scary when she is mad. That is if you didn’t notice the note in the window saying paws off or lose a limb” Kaiden and Hunter genuinely looked scared.

“I’ll just show you guys around then and I will head back to my own pack” and I walked them through the pack house and showed them the beta and delta suites and guided Kaiden up to the top floor and showed him where the alpha family stayed which includes his office and enough rooms for a large family. Lastly, I showed them the basement which holds a gym large enough to let the whole pack train at once. It contains treadmills, ellipticals, training mats, punching bags and two boxing rings.

As I walked to my black Hummer, I called back to them “see you guys Monday at school. Your schedules are in the kitchen on the fridge and remember if you need anything just call, my pack is just a half hour way.”

On the drive back, my dream from last night comes back to me. I’m running through a familiar forest and all the sudden it changes into a rainforest Coming to a stop I look around and catch this intoxicating scent. Although I can’t make it out, I follow it to a beach and there sitting on the warm sand is a beautiful white she-wolf with the most breath-taking violet eyes. All my wolf, Onyx, can hear is one word “Soon” whispered over the ocean behind her. I know she is my mate, but I gave up looking for her last year after the mating ball that was held in France for all the unmated wolves in the world although I haven’t given up hope that she might show up one day
