After getting together with Liam, I helped him open three restaurants in addition to supporting his work at the law firm.
Every single one of those restaurants had been funded by me. Now that we were over, there was no reason for him to keep running them.
Liam stormed into my office again soon afterward.
"What gives you the right to take back my restaurants?" he demanded furiously.
I looked at him calmly and smiled. "Because I paid for them."
His expression darkened immediately. "How can you be this petty?" he snapped. "You're seriously trying to take back gifts you already gave me?"
Since reasoning with him was clearly impossible, I had the legal department bring over the contract we signed years ago.
The contract clearly stated that if our relationship ended, the restaurants would
