"You'll sleep here from now onward," Killian said, showing the room to Renée. "Try not to come to my room. And if you want to have any kind of conversation with me, then the lounge present between our rooms is the place, where you will find me," he explained.
"I don't think I'll be in need to talk to you," Renée said.
"We will see that," Killian remarked in a challenging tone.
Renée glared at him with a frown. "I want you to give me a job in your company," she finally demanded.
"You need to be interviewed for that," Killian said.
"What? I thought I would get some privileges for being your wife," Renée rolled her eyes.
"What position do you want?" Killian then asked. "Never mind. You used to be an intern in your last company before being thrown out."
"You really did research everything about me." Renée felt angry because so far she knew nothing about him except for how rich he was!
"I did my work diligently while I was an intern at the last company. I would have been a regular employee if Shawn hadn't done something. I wonder how he knew the higher-ups in that company. If you will help me with the job, I can hire a lawyer with the money I will receive. I need to take back my home from them," Renée stated with desperation.
"You are so naive, Renée. You dated a man and knew nothing about him," Killian chuckled.
"Don't look down on me. Unlike you, I don't stalk the people," Renée snapped at him.
"That's called information gathering, not stalking," Killian said. He loosened his bowtie, making Renée's eyes go wide.
She wondered why he was undressing in her room. Quickly, she turned around and said, "Go to your room if you want to undress."
"Well, this entire house is mine, including this room," Killian said and lazily put the tuxedo blazer on the chair. He mused to see her reaction and took a step close to her. "Weren't you in a relationship? What's there to be shy about?" His hot breath fanned her nape, making her realize that he was right behind him.
Renée quickly turned to him. "Why did you not marry your girlfriend? Don't you think it's wrong? I mean, it's so weird to see you standing like this," she muttered.
"Renée, I'm not obliged to share my personal life with you," Killian stated. "Have a good night. I'll give you a desired position in my company tomorrow," he asserted and walked out of the room.
Renée locked the door from inside and sat on the bed. She was married lawfully, yet it was a fake marriage.
"Is Shawn having fun with Lucy? Are they both in my house, entangled in the sheets on the bed I purchased two months ago?" Renée's hands clenched the fabric of her gown tightly.
Tears formed in her eyes as she recalled the day Shawn threw her out of the house. He dragged her in such a pathetic way. "Lucy, I always treated you as my family. Why did you do this to me? You were so good at my face, but that face, that smile always betrayed me," she muttered.
Just then, Renée remembered that Lucy was an employee of the Morrison Group. A smile formed on her lips as she finally knew what she had to do tomorrow.

In Killian's room, Roseline Lombardi stood before him with a soft smile on her lips.
"You looked wonderful in those photos with Renée," she remarked.
Killian let out a chuckle, pulling her into an embrace. "That was just a fake marriage, Rose. One year, and then it’ll be over. After that, we’ll finally be together," he assured her.
Roseline's smile faded slightly as she gently pushed him away. "I’m leaving for Paris," she revealed, her voice steady but her eyes conflicted.
Killian’s expression shifted, concern etching his features. "Why Paris? Why now?" he asked, stepping closer, his gaze searching hers.
"I thought about staying, being with you... But I have my dreams too, Killian. Paris is the heart of fashion. It’s where I need to be. Besides, you’re already married now, even if it's just for show. Staying in this relationship, pretending, isn’t right anymore," she said, her tone tinged with quiet resolve.
Killian stared at her, disbelief crossing his face. "Roseline, we’ve talked about this. You know it’s just a contract marriage. I had to do it because my grandfather—"
"—doesn’t approve of me as a suitable daughter-in-law for the Morrison family," Roseline finished for him, her voice calm but firm. "Our family histories don’t align."
"Rose, I love you," he said, desperation creeping into his voice. "This marriage was necessary. I couldn’t let Shawn take over the overseas division, and Grandpa wouldn’t let me have it unless I was married. But we can fix this. I’ll annul the contract with Renée, end the marriage, and—"
Roseline gently pressed her finger against his lips, silencing him. "Killian, we both knew this day would come. I wanted you to go through with the marriage for your sake, for your future. You’re an incredible CEO, with so much potential. You can’t keep chasing after me and putting your ambitions on hold. We can still be friends, can’t we?" she asked softly, her finger trailing down from his lips as she looked deeply into his eyes.
Killian's voice broke but he tried to keep his composure. "None of my ambitions matter if you’re not beside me. I’ll give up the company," Killian asserted in his firm voice. "Go to Paris, chase your dreams. I’ll wait for you. Even if Grandpa kicks me out, I’ll accept it. As long as I have you."
Roseline shook her head gently, her expression unreadable. "Killian, I can’t let you do that. I can’t hurt my parents. I’m sorry, but my love for you isn’t strong enough to make me choose you over my family." Her voice was soft but decisive, each word hitting Killian like a blow.
"Rose… Why?" he asked, the shock visible in his wide eyes. He swallowed hard, trying to calm the storm rising inside him. "Maybe you just need some time. Let’s talk tomorrow. You must be tired," he offered, holding onto hope.
Roseline shook her head again, her resolve unwavering. "I have a flight tomorrow morning, Killian. Let’s end this now." Her voice broke just slightly, but she steadied herself. "I hope you have a happy, healthy married life."
She moved past him, picking up her handbag as she headed for the door.
Desperate, Killian rushed after her, blocking her path. "Look into my eyes and tell me it’s over," he said, his voice laced with quiet intensity. His ocean-blue eyes shimmered with the tears he was holding back. He was sure she couldn’t do it, sure that if she looked at him, she would break.
Roseline paused, her gaze meeting his. There was a sadness in her eyes, but also a closure. "Killian, it ends here," she whispered. "I’m sorry… try to forget me." She hugged him, her hands softly caressing his back as if to soothe the pain she was causing. Before stepping away, she placed a tender kiss on his cheek, her eyes lingering on his for one last moment. Then, she turned and walked out of his life.
Renée, standing nearby, had witnessed everything. She was stunned, her mind racing. 'Why did they break up?' she thought, her eyes still fixed on Killian, who stood frozen as if something dear had been taken away from him.
