Chapter 3- Puzzled- Not a Clue

" Jeff! Jeff!" Khandi feebly called after returning from the hospital.
"Be quiet! Shhhhhh!" "I jus get Kiel to sleep."
Khandi could not contain herself; she was overwhelmed with grief and fear as she related to Jeff what the doctor said.
"I can't believe what is happening."
"She could not believe? Imagine if she found out the truth....she would dead," cunningly said Jeff to himself. He had a heart as cold as ice. Not once did he care to ask how Kathayia was feeling.
Early next morning, Khandi left for the hospital without Jeff. He claimed he had to run errands for his mom.....but did he? Khandi suspected nothing through Jeff's actions as he was very loving but manipulative. Millions of thoughts raced through her head as she made her way to the hospital where Kathayia was admitted.
"I sure is dah no good boi down the road or somebody from school, who she jam now."
"What if I get arrested? What? She is a minor....father! Help me o!"
"Wake me up from this terrible terrible nightmare."
"Nurse I'm here to visit my daughter, Kathayia."
"Hold on mam!" " O yes! Kathayia......sorry mam! No visitors are currently allowed to see Kathayia."
"I was instructed to get your contact number to place on her file as she is still resting due to the medication and we have not been able to get much information from her.....I apologise but you will be contacted by a Social worker once your daughter is awake."
Khandi froze in shock. No words could come out of her mouth. Khandi became a live statue for seconds until she fainted.
Khandi had a blackout. She herself could not believe. She did not have one of those since back in high school after she was r***d by a close friend.
"I can't believe I blacked out....." she sighed.
" What is happening?" "Is this a sign?" "Was Kathayia r***d?"
So many thoughts raced through her mind. It was this massive puzzle that she tried to piece together. She was heart broken. Unsure of what to feel or do.
"Why hasn't Jeff checked up on me or Kathayia?" She asked herself as she reached for her phone in her handbag. She began to ring his cell.
" Jeff!" She immediately broke down. " I still can't see her! What is wrong with my baby Jeff? What is wrong?"
"Please meet me at the hospital Jeff, I need to pass by my office and fill out some papers. I really need some time off. I think I am losing my mind." She continued....
"I have never spent so much time away from my babygirl.....no not ever!"
In no time Jeff arrived at the hospital to pick up Khandi. She slowly walked to the car as if there was no life in her body, still sobbing with tears running down her face. As she got into the car, she just sat there silently.
"Why you ain't say a word? wuh happen gyrl Khandi gyrl? What it is really going on with Kathayia?" "I feeling like you hiding something. Since yesterday you can't see she...nah nah!"
"What you want me to tell you eh? she said angrily, "Tell you what I don't know eh!"
"I sorry Khandi I just worried about Kathayia, she is such a sweet daughter."
Suddenly her phone began ringing. "Is the hospital....shhhhhhh!"
