Chapter 25 FIRE LIT UP the sky. Flapping flames reached over the rooftops, spreading foul smoke in the air. People ran through the street, mere silhouettes in the dusky night. Some carried sticks as weapons, others had their faces covered. Carro walked through the dark streets alone, cold air biting through his cloak. His face hurt, his muscles hurt, his head hurt.
