Chapter 2: I Think I'm Going To Like Her

874 Words
So where were we...oh right. As I walked into the main office of my own hell-loop, I was greeted by a kind elderly-looking secretary. The only reason I could tell her welcoming smile wasn't fake wasn't due to her aura, which was a soft pink, which usually meant that she was a mother-hen type of a woman. (you can thank Rega for this little nugget of information, as reading auras is one of her many abilities) "Good morning dear, how can I help you?" She asked, her voice sounding just like how a freshly baked batch of cookies would smell. "Umm, I'm just trying to find my schedule and get to my first-period class. My name is Regina DiMagia if that helps..." I said trailing off, anxious I might have rambled a bit. (I have a tendency to do that...) "Oj, wonderful! Here you are. Do you need someone to help you find your classes?" She asked, still smiling. "Uh, I should be good. Thanks though," I said, already halfway out the door. By the time she responded, I was almost to Timbuktu. (jk, not really, but I was outta there) I used Pira's power of telepathy to try and find the thoughts of my teacher. Once I found them, I came to the doorway and just gathered myself mentally. I walked into my metaphysical mind space, where I keep all my creatures and made sure that Lup and Vena knew not to come out unless I called for them. (I could be more lenient with Tera because she rarely cared about anything but her naps) Since walking into the school, I had been able to tell that there is a host of Supernaturals here, and the last thing I need is to be exposed by something stupid, like Vena deciding to play a silly trick, as it is her nature. But as I walked into the room, I realized something, Walking up to the teacher, I tried not to look at the female and male who had put all of my instincts on high alert. I had found my Protector. Usually, in cases like mine, which are few and far between, a special Supernatural being would have one utterly loyal and devoted Protector, to help them through any ordeals in their life. Commonly, the Protector is the opposite s*x and could be, but rarely is your mate. But it seems that once again, I'm the exception. I was given not one but two Protectors, one male, and one female. Quickly I asked Tera to scent them to figure out what species they both were. The male is a werewolf, maybe a Gamma or a Warrior, and the female is a sorceress. Tera replied, still slightly drowsy from her numerous cat-naps. Thanks, Tera, I replied. Tera only grumbled a reply before resuming her rigorous activities. When I venture inside my head to talk to my creatures, I try to leave either Pira or Rega in charge of our body, since they have the most human instincts and mannerisms. While Rega was talking to the teacher, Pira quickly put me back in charge, filling me in on what had happened. "Please sit in any available seat, Ms. DiMagia," my teacher said, already turning back to the board to continue the lesson. As I walked towards the desks, I noticed my Protectors silently and instinctively making three seats available so they could be near me. We will have to explain their new foreign behaviors to them, this may be confusing, Pira stated, Agreed, I replied. But should we tell them or speak in their heads? Use your words, mi dolcezza. It won't scare them as much. Pira soothed. I mentally nodded, as we had been talking for a while. I slid into my seat in between them both and quickly whispered, "Is there somewhere private we can go after class? I know what you both are and we need to talk." They exchanged looks over my head, but both nodded. After class, my Protectors flanked my sides, herding me out of school and into the woods. Once we could no longer see the school, we all stopped, having deemed it safe enough. I turned to the female and said, " Since you're a sorceress, I'm warning you. I'm about to put up a barrier so we can speak freely. Is that okay?" I quietly asked. She looked surprised but agreed with a small smile. As the female gave her consent, the male relaxed. As one, my creatures said that these two would make an excellent team, as they had already bonded and understood each other. Before I could start to explain, Cane tensed, still not trusting this new bond. This caused me to tense, preparing to defend myself. But before anything escalated further, the female interrupted. "Easy Cane. We knew something was different about her as soon as we saw her Let's hear her out before you go all wolfy on her." Then she turned to me and said, "My name's Maggie, but you better get to explaining before I let him go all wolfy and you become a flaming ball of mush." And with those words, I smiled. I had found my family at last.
