Layla's P.O.V.

Today is the last day of the exams. Mille and I got to campus two hours later than the other students because then the teacher would be done with the other students exams first..

We had one written exam first and then a presentation for the last exam.. Personally, I hate presentations, because you will have so many people staring at you, but only being in front of the teacher and the sensor, and I just hope I wont get too nervous..

Our written test was History and the subject was Us presidents. But it had to be on the one's before the year 2000's..

I choose Ulysses S. Grant, because he was president between 4. marts 1869 – 4. marts 1877.

As president, Ulysses S. Grant was an effective civil rights executive who created the Justice Department and worked with Radical Republicans to protect African Americans during Reconstruction. Previously, as Commanding General, he led the Union Army to victory in the American Civil War in 1865 and thereafter briefly served as Secretary of War.

He was a war hero, drawn in by his sense of duty, and he was unanimously nominated by the Republican Party and was elected president in 1868. As president, he stabilized the post-war national economy, supported Congressional Reconstruction, ratification of the the 15th Amendment, and crushed the Ku Klux Klan. Under Grant, the Union was completely restored. He appointed African Americans and Jewish Americans to prominent federal offices. In 1871, Grant created the first Civil Service Commission, advancing the civil service more than any prior president.

He managed to do so much as president and that made way for equal rights for all people in the US.

I felt good when I handed in my paper and left the room with 20 minutes to spare..

Mille used all the time available, but she also felt good about the president she chose to write about..

"Who did you choose?" I asked when she joined me on the bench outside..

"America's fourth President, James Madison out of coriousity.. He was referred to as the 'Father of the Constitution'," she said, and took a sip of water from her thermoflask.

"Exciting..! Can I read it when you get it back.?" I asked. I loved reading her thoughts on subjects like these..

"Sure, if I can read yours in return.." she responded with a smile..

"Haha, deal.!" I smiled and then we headed to our presentation exam..

"Hi girls.. You have 20 minutes to prepare your presentations.. Mille we'll start with you, and Layla when we come for Mille, you'll come in and prepare while she presents her work to us.. Okay.." Our teacher told us and we politely nodded in understanding..

I sat outside on the grass, enjoying the sun while I waited to be able to go in and prepare.. It was nice and quiet on campus since everyone else had gone home an hour or so ago.. Only a few people were hanging around at the edge of campus grounds, waiting to be picked up or waiting for the bus..

The 20 minutes flew by and then Mille got summoned and I was placed in the room next to the room, where the teacher and sensor were to prep for my presentation.. It didn't take long for me to be ready since I had planned most of it out in my head already, so I just kept going over the biggest things I wanted to make sure I got in, in the time I had..

Then it was my turn.. We'll never meet the sensors before we see them in the examroom, so sometimes you get a grumpy old man or woman.. But this sensor was a young female sensor and she was really nice and made sure I was comfortable before we got started..

I managed to get even more into my presentation and some extras from the questions they were asking about afterwards..

"Thank you so much Layla.. I think that's all.." my teacher said and looked at the sensor, and gave him a agreeing nod, as she closed her notebook..

"Thank you, it was nice meeting you.." I said and shook the sensor's hand and then my teachers..

"You too, and good work.. Have a nice weekend.." the sensor said, and I thanked both of them and left the room..

I found Mille in the same spot I had been sitting before I had gone in..

She got her stuff and then we headed to the car so we could go home and get ready for the party..

"Oh shut..! I forgot to ask you and Jackie something.." I exclaimed and stopped in my tracks..

"What is it.?" Mille asked, stopping up too and looked back at me..

"Ethan texted me and said if we wanted, we are welcome to come before 7 pm and hangout a bit before the other people get there.." I told her and I could tell she was up for it, right away..

"Really.!? Should we.?" she asked..

"Well let's call Jackie and see if she's up for it, since we all have agreed on getting ready together.." I said and pulled up my phone and called her..

Jackie was totally up for it so we agreed on Jackie getting to Mille's house as soon as possible so we could get ready and then head over to Max and Ethan's house around 5 pm.. Right now it was 1 pm, and we all needed to shower, shave and get ready.. But luckily Mille's house has multiple bathrooms, so all of us could shower at the same time without having to wait for the others to finish up first..

When we arrived at Mille's house, Jackie was already there waiting for us with a bag of things she needed to get ready..

On the way upstairs, we caught up on how we felt about how we did on our exams we had today, and then separated into different bathrooms..

I was excited for tonight.. I have my new fancy dress and I'm going to loosely curl my hair and wear it half up, half down, pinned with a back bow as a nice little detail.. It's the best way to wear my hair when I like to dance and keep it mostly out of my face for the night, but still look cute and have it framing my face.. Plus, guys love long hair, so it's also for show..

My shower didn't take long, because I had washed my hair yesterday.. I planned ahead for what I wanted to do with my hair, and curling my freshly washed hair was a pain in the butt because my hair is mostly straight and slippery..

When I got out of the shower, I tossed my hair up in an old cotton t-shirt, and left it there as I dried off my body..

I put an oversized t-shirt on, for when I'm getting ready, so I don't spill or get anything on my dress before we are ready to go..

I even contemplated whether I should just wear the t-shirt, when we go over to the boys ahead of time and then change at their house..

"Mille, would it be weird if I showed up, in my t-shirt and then change to my dress at their house..?" I asked Mille, since Jackie was still in the shower..

"Why do you want to do that.?" Mille responded as she was putting on mascara..

"I just don't want to spill anything on my dress before the party starts, if we have something to eat or snacks before.?" I confessed..

"You do you.. but I kind of get what you are thinking, maybe I should do the same..?" Mille questioned herself, just as Jackie walked into the room..

"What are you two talking about.?" Jackie asked.

"Layla wants to go to the boys' house in her comfy clothes and then change at their house, closer to when the party starts, so she doesn't get her dress messed up before the party, and I'm wondering to maybe do the same.." Mille said and Jackie gave us both a questioning look..

"Really.? You don't mind the boys seeing you like that before the party.?" Jackie asked us..

"Not really, no... I mean we would have the rest done and ready but it would just be a shame to get something on our outfit before the party starts.." I confessed, and really didn't care about the guys seeing me being comfy..

"It wouldn't be any different to how we get ready here.." Mille stated..

"But the guys.." Jackie objected..

"So if any of them like us, they wont care.." Mille said and went back to doing her make up, "I'm going to wear my lounge set.." she ended her sentence..

"Nice me too.." I said with a grin..

"Urh fine.. I'll be comfy too.." Jackie said with a joking sound of defeat in her voice..

Then we finished our hair and makeup, packed up our outfits and headed to the boys' house..
