CHAPTER 14: A Stranger in Queens Elodie's POV The adrenaline crashed the second I stepped out of the subway station. It didn't just fade. It evaporated, leaving me hollow and shaking. I pulled my thin trench coat tighter across my chest, shivering as the damp evening wind bit at my face. I kept my head down and walked as fast as my toes would allow.
