Roxanne nodded to the attendees, who sat at a round stone table that had been magically smoothed to a shine. She took her seat between Fletcher and Re’thelle, the newly appointed Flame’shikrim representative. “Cutting it a little close,” Fletcher murmured, glancing at his watch. Roxanne waved a hand. “I’m exactly on time.” “Fifteen minutes early is on time. On time is late,” said the crisp and cutting voice of Alisa Belbreeze. Roxanne glared toward the head of the room to see the Chief International Liaison descending the semicircular steps of the throne dais. “I swear she’s part elf,” Fletcher whispered. “How else can she hear so well?” Roxanne had a few rude opinions to offer on the overbearing Belbreeze, but she kept them to herself.
