Alpha Kennis had threatened me before, and the way he was glaring at me made me fear he might actually follow through this time. I shook my head no. Kennis, and Emrys locked eyes, mind-linking. The tension was palpable. Their auras were overwhelming, but I could tell that Kennis was the more powerful of the two. Eventually, Emrys lowered his head and rolled his eyes in frustration.
"Let's go, Luna," Emrys said to me. I was surprised by how calm he was. I followed Emrys out of the foyer and, unfortunately, glanced back at Kennis, who had Ella by his side, rubbing his shoulders.
