Scarlett POV                 The man still struggled against the force holding him against the wall. I could see his veins popping as he tried his hardest to break free. I kept my focus on him watching his movements carefully. He’s going to try to shift. You need to stop him. Deva demanded loudly. I had no idea what she expected me to do but she was right. I swung, my fist connecting with the side of the mans face again. “I said, who. Are. You?!” I paused between words hitting him once for each word.                 The man started to spit blood from his mouth looking at me with a tinge of fear in his eyes. He didn’t understand what was happening either. “Leon. My name is Leon you little b***h” He spat blood in my direction. I decked him again.                 Lily was still unconscious. I needed to deal with this i***t and get her to safety. I needed to get to my pack. We were too far from home. I didn’t think I could mind-link for back up. He continued to struggle more, and I watched as his fingers started to turn to claws. This had to end now. I grabbed his shirt pulling him towards me and slamming him into the wall hard enough to crack it. His body crumpled to the ground like a rag doll. Leaning down I checked for a pulse. It was still barely beating. Thank goddess, I hadn’t killed him.                 “What do I do now?!” I was panicked asking Deva for guidance. She was quiet for a moment, but it felt like years. “Find something to tie him up with. Call Harry. We can’t let him go; this was too planned.” Deva instructed me. Call my dad. She wanted me to call him in, after I pulled of some ridiculous freak of nature move. How would I explain how I overpowered this man? Damn-it! I didn’t have the time to doubt myself or my wolf. I quickly texted my father. “I need you and a couple warriors at the south center mall, as quickly as you can. Lily and I were attacked.”                 After sending the text I quickly grabbed our purses that had fallen to the ground when Leon had hit me. Removing the straps, I used those to bind his feet and hands hoping that would hold until my father got her. As soon as I was sure he was secure I went to check on Lily. She was groggy but starting to wake up. “Hey Lil, stay down. You’ve been hurt. “I spoke softly to hear, certain that her head had to be throbbing. I removed her gag and untied her hands. Now we just had to wait. I propped Lily against the wall where I could easily see her. “Stay with me, Lil. Stay awake.” I murmured wiping the blood from her mouth.                 It had felt like hours, but somehow, I had managed to keep the bathroom secured until I heard the familiar heavy steps of my father bounding into the bathroom. I hadn’t told him exactly where I was. He was a tracker though. He probably followed my scent. Seeing the familiar amber eyes as they entered the room broke me. “Daddy!” I shrieked the adrenaline from the fight finally leaving my body and leaving me as a broken little girl. He ran to me. Two men behind him grabbing and securing Leon. Harry gripped me tightly holding on to me. “What happened Scar? Why did he attack you girls?”                 When he released me, I crumpled to the floor curling myself into Lily. She was still hurt badly. “Daddy, Lily, she’s hurt.” I said unable to explain in the moment and through my tears exactly what had happened. He ushered over to her looking her over. He nodded in understanding. “Scar, she’s hurt. But her wolf is healing her. We’ll get her to Dr. Grace. “He reassured me kneeling between us.                 One of the guards returned after they’d taken Leon out. I couldn’t even start to figure out how they’d removed the bound-up man without gaining any attention. I didn’t care. All I cared about in this moment was that Lily was okay. My head hurt but Deva had assured me it was a minor injury. That she would take care of it. I took a slow breath as the guard lifted Lily up and spoke to my father.                 “Alright Scar let’s get your girls home. We’ll send for your car. You need to ride with me.” Harry spoke clearly making it apparent that I was not to argue. His gamma voice was hinting in the directions. I let him help me stand back up and lead the way to his car. The guard had already loaded into the back with Lily. I got in the passenger side. “Where’s Leon?” I asked.                 Harry raised an eyebrow with a stern look. “Who’s Leon? That bastard that attacked you?!” He was angry. I could see the white knuckles gripping the steering wheel. I shrunk back into the seat. “Yes. I demanded to know who he was before I managed to knock him out, he had said his name was Leon.” Harry nodded attempting to show understanding.                 It would take a bit to get back to the packhouse, even with him speeding. I took the time to give my father a play by play. “Dad, I somehow held him to the wall without ever touching him.” I said softly. Almost a whisper. I wouldn’t keep a secret from my dad. He had chosen me when no one wanted me. I was certain he wouldn’t reject me for being a freak. His eyes went wide when the realization hit.                 He stayed silent the rest of the ride. Maybe I was wrong. Maybe he would think I was a freak. Maybe he would insist I be banished from the pack. I cried softly facing the window the rest of the drive. Deva kept dancing around in my head trying to get me to listen to her. “He’s going to see just how special you are, little one. He won’t see you as a freak. We are special.” She was practically chanting. But she was wrong. I pushed her to the back of my mind. I couldn’t argue with her right now. We were freaks. We weren’t anything special. --                 I was sitting in Alpha Nolan’s office listening to my dad fill him in on my story. The Alpha looked at me and I hung my head low. “Alpha, I don’t know how it happened” I explained when my father had reached the part of my ability to hold him to the wall without ever touching him. “I don’t know why he tried to take Lily, or how I was strong enough to stop it.”                 Harry and Nolan looked me over for a moment in mutual shock. Nolan gave my father a knowing look and I watched as Harry moved to lock the door. “Scarlett, it’s time your father and I explain something to you.” Alpha Nolan said calmly.                 I looked at them confused. This was my flaw. I was not a normal wolf. Not as they had raised me to believe. What could they have to explain to me? “Stop.” Harry interrupted my thoughts. “Scarlett, there’s more to your history than we’ve shared with you.” He added. “I need you to sit back and listen. I think this will explain today’s events in the only way we can all understand.” He was speaking softer now. I folded my hands in my lap taking a deep breath. “Okay.” I said softly.                 Alpha Nolan leaned back in his chair seeming to debate something for a moment. “Scarlett, we kept your history a secret as protection for you. I’m going to let Harry explain what we know. As your father he should have that honor. As your Alpha I’m going to reassure you that none of this changes our decision to have you as a member in this pack, you are a Shadow Moon wolf. You are the future gamma of Shadow Moon. But I will also ask that after we’ve explained we keep this conversation between us three. Is that understood?”                 “Yes, Alpha” I squeaked out. This was all so much. -- Harry POV                 I sat at a chair in front of the Alpha’s desk glancing around the room while he explained his expectations in this conversation. The room was decorated tastefully. A simple oak desk sat in the middle of the room, there were file cabinets on the back wall, two small chairs and a couch out in front of the desk to allow for visitors to sit comfortably.                 After Scarlett agreed to the terms of the conversation, I glanced over her. She looked so small again. Much as she had 12 years ago. To me that day still felt like yesterday in many ways. That was the day I became a father. It was also the beginning of a beautiful life with my family. It had taken Scarlett a while to warm up to us. I would forever remember the first time she called me daddy. She had been with us for about a year and had woken up from a nightmare. She had looked just as terrified as she did in this very moment, but it was by far one of my happiest memories. I made her feel safe.                 I cleared my throat. “Scarlett, when we found you there had been a large assault on lone wolves leaving outside of our territory. There were no survivors, save you. You know this.” I took a moment and watched for her nod of understanding. “What we hadn’t told you is we had discovered that picture of your mother. The one you have in your room.” We had debated allowing her the photo, for fear of wanting to keep her identity secret, but it brought the child comfort, so we had it hung in her room. Outsiders shouldn’t have been able to discover it then anyway.                 “The woman in that photo, your mother, was thought to have been dead 5 years prior to when she actually was murdered. There had been an attack on the Stone River pack. All of us wolves believed there to be no survivors. Your mother somehow had managed to escape and went into hiding.” I paused letting the information sink in. “You are not a gamma, little one. You were not just some orphan. You were born to two alpha parents. Luna Gentry and Alpha Armin. Being born to two Alphas alone creates a stronger Alpha than most. But your story was even more magical because somehow your mother had managed to protect and keep your existence hidden. We don’t know much about pure blooded Alphas. Most Alphas have one line of Alpha blood. It is extremely rare that two Alphas are mated and produce an heir. “I paused watching the shock on her face while she realized what I was getting at.                 “Alpha Nolan and I believe what happened today in the bathroom with Lily and Leon was a manifestation of your power as a pure-blooded Alpha. Scarlett, we believe you to be the prophesized wolf. A wolf born of primordial blood, dating back to the very beginning of werewolves. Born as a descendant of the goddess herself.”
