Ralph pressed his lips together and reached for my hand. "Come back with me. I can pretend none of this ever happened. The wedding can still go on as planned. I’ve already picked out the hotel and ordered the wedding dress. Once I finish the project I’m working on and finally have some free time, we can hold the wedding." His grip was strong as he clutched my wrist, making it impossible for me to break free.
Mrs. Lewis hurried over to help, only to be shoved to the ground by Ralph.
I snapped angrily, "Ralph, this is not your house, and you can’t force me! I have already made myself very clear! We’ve broken off the engagement. I’m not marrying you! Julian and I had a marriage arrangement from the beginning!"
