5 Karissa and Finley offered to meet me in the lobby to walk to girls’ night together, but both of them were already out and it felt ridiculous to ask my friends to walk me through our small town. Then I stepped outside alone and realized I was terrified. I’d been in either Karissa and Finley’s condo or mine, and being outside, and alone, was a little overwhelming. I hadn’t been out of the building since the night I was robbed. A police officer even came to me to try to get a sketch of the guy. Not that I was helpful.
